Even when I log in it says Im not logged in. Help

I log in, go to read someone's profile and it states I must log in in order to do so even though I am logged in. This happens everytime I connect to SL.

For example, I log into SL, go to a particular place, click on a Profile and the profile has a small LOCK icon next to the person's name and avi. I scroll over the Lock and this is when i get the message stating I must log in. I cant even edit my own profile because of this

please go to the menu Me-> Preferences ->Setup and select 'Use built-in browser' and check ALL checkboxes (enable plugins,  accept cookies, Enable javascript, Enable media browser pop-ups) and test if it works, then.

They are needed in order to use web profiles.

Also make sure you have the latest Flash version installed which is also needed for viewer media (but might not be the issue here). Please note that the Internet Explorer addon version of Flash is not sufficient, you would need the standalone Flash version instead.
