When people are trying to voice chat with me, I like to use headphones. I plug in my headphones but the sound still comes through the laptop speakers and not the headphones. Any help you can provide would be appreciated

I log in, go to read someone's profile and it states I must log in in order to do so even though I am logged in. This happens everytime I connect to SL. For example, I log into SL, go to a particular place, click on a Profile and the profile has a small LOCK icon next to the person's name and avi. I scroll over the Lock and this is when i get the message stating I must log in. I cant even edit my own profile because of this
