Hello,

this is an issue with Skydrive (or iTunes).

Either uninstall them, or (in case it's Skydrive), you can try this workaround for Skydrive(tested in Windows 7) by removing some registry entries:

1) Start regedit (start -> run -> type “regedit” -> hit enter)
2) Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers
3) In the left panel you should see 3 SkyDrive keys (1, 2 and 3) as shown here in attached image
regedit.png
4) Delete all 3 of them
5) Reboot
6) Enjoy both Skydrive and Second Life working at the same time

A fix is on the way, and will be in the next viewer version.

I was about to give you a link to the brand-new viewer with a fix, but it seems that the latest build failed =D

Check the download page in a couple of days: https://secondlife.com/support/downloads?lang=en-US

If you can't wait and don't want to uninstall Skydrive/iTunes, you can use this (unofficial) viewer version: http://automated-builds-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/hg/repo/integration_viewer-development/rev/268856/arch/CYGWIN/installer/Second_Life_3-4-5-268856_Development_Setup.exe

Jared: it could possibly be another program with an "overlay icons shell extension".

If you're 100% sure that you don't have iTunes or Skydrife installed (or didn't uninstall either properly), I would like to ask you to file a bug-report at https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/CreateIssue!default.jspa and mention that you don't have Skydrive or iTunes installed (please fill out all fields there, together with the information about your Environment from Help-> About Second Life),

but please note that Linden Lab will only look into the issue, if the information you're posting is only about the official viewer.
