innovative1
I want to upgrade to premium account and I want to buy from mainland. However, I don't want a house but to buy 1/4 of land and pay the monthly fees. Is it possible?
0 valerie Inshan
Yes. Look for parcels for sale using the map or auctions. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-land/ta-p/700043#Section_.2.1 http://secondlife.com/land/pricing.php
0 Lindal Kidd
It certainly is! You have two possible ways to save a bit on monthly tier, too. 1. The first 512 square meters of mainland you own will be free of tier. This is usually only helpful if you own 1024 square meters or less. If you own, say, 1024 square meters, you will only pay tier at the 512 square meter level, $5 per month vs. $8. But you may be lucky enough to find a parcel that is 512 square meters or less *over* the limiting size for a tier level...for example, you would pay tier at the 4096 tier level ($25 per month) for a parcel up to 4608 sq. m. 2. If the land is owned by your group, you can hold up to 10% more land than as an individual, at the same tier level. Create a group, "anchor" it by adding your own alt or a friend to the group, then when you purchase your land, have that group tag active, use the Buy For Group option, and check "owner makes contribution with deed" box. For more on this, see my blog post, "The Ten Per Cent Solution". Besides using the Map and the Auction listings, you can find Mainland for sale using in world Search, looking for it on the Marketplace, or reading ads in the SL forums.
