Hello (:

I recently started sl again, and wanted to create some items.

Now i know my way around blender a little bit, but i can not understand how to create out of one plane multiple planes, like grass or foliage. I know this is possible and i really would love to learn!

I am not interested in mesh in this case when thinking of Li.

So my question is does anybody knows how to create such an sculpt in blender and what would be the best way to do this thinking of LOD?

Thank you, i really hope someone can help me out!

Here is an example:

Hi Septembre

the technique you are asking about is called fractional sculpting. It's basically done by taking some edge loops in the sculpt and scaling them into tiny little poles. It makes it llosk as tho you have more than 1 sculptie. That's the plus side. The drawback is that you have very limited resources to do this with.. 1024 faces is not a lot, and it gets complicated to plan for lower LODS.

you should be able to learn all the basics of how it works on the Machinamatris site here: http://blog.machinimatrix.org/primstar-2/reference/uv-shape/bricks/

you will need to purchase Primstar2 to work with Blender 2.5 and up. :)

good luck
