  1. i was also logging in to say that i also think fashion or avatar appearance as the ONLY game in town gets a bit old. i do like the seasonal themes though and i am always or almost always impressed by the quality of the images. but you know, maybe some landscapes, or activities oriented scenes could be just as seasonal.
  2. YUP, completely agree on the faster all the time on all features you mentioned. MP was perhaps most noticeable. I have not spent enough time in group chat this past week to notice improvemnets, but will take your word for it that speed has increased. Overall through the past several or even dozen viewer updates, I have been delighted to see how quickly even dense scenes just POP into view. However, the reason I write is to complain about a performance enhancing feature that drives me crazy (typical I know, and I'm sorry). Since the start of the interesting code, things, or rather the surface textures on things blurs in and out of focus after any length of time in world.. say about an hour or more. The only cure is to relog, though normally I end up doing that with a sense of last resort and am ummm mad by that point.. I said drives me crazy, right. Turning on Full Res textures in develop menu will also prevent the blurring,( *thrashing* ? ) or "wonkiness" as I call it, but this seems to be too high a performance hit in other respects for some areas and definitely too high a hit for some people. It is most noticeable standing around in a more or less empty environment and as someone who spends most of her time on a platform working closely with local textures to get things just right, having the focus of everything on screen dissolve to fuzz is soooooooo irritating. Also, it seems worse on alpha masked textures, they are almost always blobs of blur that using them feels like a deadend. Sorry for the whine. This is the ONLY bad in what has been a solid year or 2 of steady improvements and thoughtful little touches. Love the frequent updates, love how beautiful everything has been looking, love how well materials are working and how easy they are to use, love how scenes POP into view, love being able to spin my camera around in crowds and not crash.... just hate that the interesting code in the viewer (or whatever it is) cannot be made to HOLD STILL and stay in focus. Anyway, I just wish there was a way to opt out of this feature even if only temporarily, something like full res textures perhaps but only withion a close range or even a version of the viewer without it. Or maybe there could be some crazy easy fix such as it's only engaged when the avatar's position changes or something (????).
  3. Hey... i just felt the same pain myself. but see link for the correct flip 'recipe'. -1.000 (that's minus) on the vertical and rotated 180 degrees in rotation. picture: http://gyazo.com/93012449e6aa90253603ce24bbe65433
  4. why, why, why indeed? One thing that does seem to help is ctrl A > choose Apply Scale and Rotation in object mode before export. Mind you I have no idea why (why, why, why) this makes a difference, but when i am uploading a mesh that i was pretty sure should be around 5 LI and instead i see 45 on the uploader preview, i think, ohh... wonder if i did that ctrl A scale rot thingie. (apologies for technical jargon) I suspect there is some sort of data prurge that makes for a friendlier meeting between the incoming .dae file and SL's moody and unpredictable uploader. i am still puzzling over when, why (why, why, why) and how number and orientation of triangles matter. i make mostly small curvy things (where small differences have HUGE impacts in LI) and think of each and every upload as a foray into a culture where haggling is still the norm.
  5. oh... i hope it's not too late to find one of these. i started trying to learn some KFM today but i am a total script tard. this makes it sound possible at least. Please sir, I hope you still have room in your group for more 'testers'.
  6. Hi Septembre the technique you are asking about is called fractional sculpting. It's basically done by taking some edge loops in the sculpt and scaling them into tiny little poles. It makes it llosk as tho you have more than 1 sculptie. That's the plus side. The drawback is that you have very limited resources to do this with.. 1024 faces is not a lot, and it gets complicated to plan for lower LODS. you should be able to learn all the basics of how it works on the Machinamatris site here: http://blog.machinimatrix.org/primstar-2/reference/uv-shape/bricks/ you will need to purchase Primstar2 to work with Blender 2.5 and up. good luck
  7. niiice.. but no mention of location? not fair
  8. I wish there were sections of the mp as well, so that when I am looking for one category of thing, I don't need to wade through ads for so many other things. For that reason alone, I very much appreciate the ability to not have to see adult items, and I leave it turned off. LL for their part reminds me quite frequently that I would see more stuff (as above - NOT my goal) if I would only re-enable it. So while I can totally appreciate your frustration with other merchants seeming non-compliance IF you have convinced yourself (or are even suspicious that the reason for low sales is customers having difficulty finding your product), I very much doubt that the reason they are having difficulty finding your beds is that they are unaware that they should turn on the adult setting. It might be the case that with it on, there is simply so much more stuff on view (which again, is why I leave mine off) making it less likely that your items will bob to the surface in an ocean of stuff for sale. If this theory is correct, then you would do better to petition LL to allow people to turn OFF general and moderate and search only in the adult ratings. Except I doubt that they will go for that. At any rate believe me, LL is doing their part to make people aware of the settings. They seem to want shoppers to see as much as possible on every log in.
  9. I don't exactly know the cause of what happened either, but a bot, which manages some of the groups's tasks freaked out or malfunctioned and kicked everyone out. It was a freak accident, and a pretty shattering experience for Builders' Brewery, especially Sensuous and Supremius. Doors are open again, and we all hope you come back soon !
