We'd like to hear from you! We have posted some proposed new categories on the wiki and would love to get your feedback. As a bonus for those who chose to participate, we’re having a contest to create sub-categories for Female Skins. For more information, please see the contest blog post.

We have announced the winners for the categories contest! Thanks to all who participated and provided feedback. And thank you to everyone who provided general feedback on categories. Here are the new categories we’ll be using for Female Skins (as well as Male Skins):

Our next steps include:

• During the week of December 10, 2012, we will add the proposed categories for Celebrations/Holidays/Christmas.
• We will update other proposed category changes on the wiki and provide an additional chance to provide feedback.
• In the new year, we will begin adding these additional categories.

To make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for when shopping the Marketplace, we have updated the proposed new categories based upon your feedback. But it doesn't end there! You have until January 10, 2013 to review and share any additional comments you may have.

Here are the new categories we have already added to the Marketplace. Enjoy!

Under Celebrations/Holidays/Christmas

Thanks to everyone for the insight and feedback on ways we might improve the Marketplace Categories. After considering all the feedback, we have updated the Marketplace Category Changes wiki page which shows the exciting new changes you will soon see in the Marketplace.

You’ll see some of the initial additions starting today (under Animations and Apparel). After that, you’ll see the rest roll out over a period of 1-2 weeks. Keep an eye on this post for an update when we’ve completed the changes!

We have completed the category updates. We will be giving Merchants through May 1, 2013, to update existing listings to use the new categories before we begin enforcing the new category hierarchy. This will only affect listings which could now have a more specific category as an option.

Please take a look at the category updates or the complete Marketplace category hierarchy to determine where best to place your listings.
