Do you have to own land and pay tiers if you own a sky box outright?

I have no land and have bought a few free sky boxs ! was wondering if I need to pay tiers or own land to use them?

yes you do need to own the land you want to put it above or rent the land from someone else but either way you have to pay tier

You can rez a skybox at a sandbox and try it out for a few hours though.  That's a chance to use them before you decide to get land or what land to get.
