My animals are still on a sim, that says doesn't exist. How do I get my pets back?

When I try and get there, I get a box saying it doesn't exist. I've been locked out for 3 days.

Assuming the sim is/was a private estate, the first thing you should do is try to contact the sim owner, your landlord or whoever you have been paying your rent to.  If you get no response and the sim no longer appears on the World Map, then it may have been taken offline, in which case you will need to open a support ticket with LL and see if they will reopen the sim long enough for you and other residents to remove your items.
