"ONE BILLION RISING - began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that -1 in 3 women across the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. That’s ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. The objective of this years event is to raise awareness for this extremely important cause. This year on, February 14, 2021, as part pf a mass action to end violence against women residents in Second Life will join activists, writers, thinkers, and people across the grid to rise, resist and unite as a show of unity, individual strength, and the need for change. This Second Life event will feature a four-region stage where 200 people can come together to dance, surrounded by an area of art, poetry, dramatic productions, and informational exhibits."
