We are happy to announce the next steps in our efforts to enhance your Second Life experience and performance.

DeltaFPS Viewer (7.1.10) Officially Released

After thorough testing and your valuable feedback, we’re happy to report that version 7.1.10, known as DeltaFPS, is now available for all residents as the official Second Life viewer. This update brings performance enhancements that are on par with our pre-PBR levels, ensuring a smoother and more responsive experience.

What’s new in DeltaFPS?

• Improved frame rates: You’ll notice smoother movement and transitions, especially in crowded or resource-intensive areas.
• Bug fixes and stability improvements: We’ve squashed several bugs reported by users during the release candidate phase, making this the most stable version yet.
• Enhanced rendering: DeltaFPS optimizes how the viewer handles textures and shadows, providing better visual fidelity with less strain on your hardware.

Firestorm Viewer Update Released

We’re also excited to announce that our collaboration with the Firestorm team has borne fruit! Firestorm has officially released their updated viewer, which incorporates all the performance improvements from Atlasaurus with WebRTC, along with several additional enhancements unique to the Firestorm platform.

Firestorm’s key updates include: 

• Atlasaurus and WebRTC integration: All the performance boosts from our Atlasaurus viewer are now included in Firestorm, improving performance whether you use the default viewer or Firestorm.

What’s Next?

With DeltaFPS now fully released we are going to be closely monitoring the performance metrics, and our team is hard at work on ExtraFPS (7.1.11), the next major update designed to push Second Life’s performance beyond previous limits. Stay tuned for more updates on ExtraFPS as we continue testing and refining this release.
