I guess, personally, I like that it can be a conversation starter "What's that thing that pops up? how does it work? Where did you get it?!" etc etc... But then, I'm a big fan of random items in SL that make people talk
  2. Generally when you are busy, items go to your trash. Try looking there for any items you may be missing.

Its a shame you're looking for something that you don't have to hold something - some of my favorites are ones that pop something interesting out while you're typing. I'm a typing animation-aholic myself... I get the majority of them from the marketplace but have found some in interesting shops as well - ** Cute Bytes ** has some fun hand puppets, Oracul has some in their AOs which are excellent and reasonably priced. *Boof has drumsticks, rubik's cubes, magic 8 ball, butterflies and a lot more. Catnip has an adorable selection if you've never been there... My partner has one that has him putting a gun to his head, sometimes not so funny, and other times hilarious. And.. of course.. there are typing AO bongs... Good luck in your search!
  4. Hi! You can turn off your radio up at the top right, you will see an arrow button (like play) or pause. Click that and it will turn off your music.

  6. You can get a security system which will only allow people on the list to enter your home. Otherwise it will eject people. You can find them on the marketplace or by searching for security systems in-world. If you own the land yourself (ie mainland or a private island) you can access the land information area at the top of your screen and disable public access. It will put ugly ban lines around your land for anyone not on the list, but allows you to keep out anyone but those you allow to enter your land. Good luck!

  8. You probably want to put in a ticket with LL to find out more, but if your CC company didn't get a request, its entirely possible that you interposed a few of the numbers on your CC. You may just need to give it another try for it to work properly. Good luck!

  10. Oooh.. There are a lot of games in Second LIfe - a few of the ones I enjoy are Greedy Greedy - a game similar to Yatzee that you can play alone or with others. Its very addicting and loads of fun. Sparkle - Another game that you can play alone or with others (or against visitors on a sim or players on the grid for the high score!) Its similar to the commercial RL "Bejeweled". Mother freakin' zombies - It looks like Zyngo until you play it.. you have to shoot zombies that are attacking you with number skill. Its a lot of fun. Daazy - is a fun flower color and pattern strategy game. Tiny Empires - a hud based grid-wide game that is based on a monarchy system. Its fun to strategize and try to get higher to make your own kingdom. Plus there are a lot of 'social' opportunities within the various kingdoms on the grid. Wow.. I play a lot of games.. those are my favorites... I can't wait to hear about others!

  12. I have an android and I connect with the Mobile Grid Client. It can be found in your App store if you have an android. It lets me do just about everything except see through a graphical interface (like my avatar and others), but its good if I have to send a notice, send some inventory, chat with others or whatnot so it really helps in an SL emergency! Good luck!

  14. Zanara Zenovka wrote: You didn't need to replace the box, or could have just rezzed another, but anyway... You say you've updated, but not that you've resynched again on the slm page. So I'd synch on SLM, give it a min, then refresh the page (F5) (it doesn't refresh itself, annoyingly). If your items haven't appeared by then, reset your box in world (or force update again - sama sama), then once it's gone back to its normal colour, synch and refresh again. If that still hasn't worked, check that you are actually allowed to run scripts where your box is rezzed, etc The thing with the inflated inventory numbers is a known issue that doesn't hurt anything in itself. Thanks for your tips. I replaced the box because it was an older version and the guide on setting up your marketplace indicates you should have the most up to date version. I had resynched, a few times, and the sim I was on was in fact my own, which has scripting enabled. Although the inflated inventory numbers don't hurt anything, they're rather annoying. What's a little more annoying is that updating everything only served to actually break everything... However, after discussing things with LL, at least my marketplace works again, inflated numbers and all. Thanks again for your tips and advice.

I'm frankly tired of messing with it this morning.. Howdy, Miss Audra I'm sorry you're havin so much trouble this mornin. It would drive me nutso too! I think you have to go to the old Xstreet page and delete the old magicbox from there. That may be what's preventing the new one from syncing. From your Merchant Home screen, click Magic Box Status. Click Cancel when the window comes up telling you to go to the new Marketplace page. Go down to the bottom of the screen where you'll see "Registered Servers." You should see the old box there and your new one there also. You can then click "Remove" on the old one. That might help! Thanks! I actually did that, and got a reply from LL that said the same thing.. which I did.. but my inventory wouldn't load on that old xstreet page.. In the end LL restarted the Sim (that would be the third time it has been restarted in less than 6 hours, since it is my own sim and it was restarted twice before LL did...) and then it seemed to work fine. Sadly now though, I'm back facing the original problem of incorrect "inventory" numbers and false "unavailable" items. Not a big deal now since my marketplace actually works.. but.. still not very cool in my book. Thanks for you suggestion though!
