I can't log in, it stays on “waiting for region handshake”

I try to log in with my account and it stays on “waiting for region handshake” and then a window appears saying: “We’re having trouble connecting. There may be a problem with your internet connection on the second life grid.

You can either check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes, click Help to view the Second life Support Portal, or click Teleport to attempt to teleport home”

Tried to reboot the computer, uninstall the viewer and try again and change locations to my home, nothing, please tell me what’s going on, thanks for your attention

Hi Johnathan,

Did you restart your cable/DSL modem and any router you use?

There are quite a few things that can mess up your connection to SL. Nalates Urriah covers a bunch of them here...

Adding Google's (or another fast public) DNS server to your router's list may also help. Nalates covers that too.
