How do I make my avatar switch movements, when I am using a menu?

When I have clicked on a menu (ie. dance or sit) I can't seem to make my avatar change their movement or pose; they just continually keep doing the same thing, even if I click a different move on the menu options.

I've tried to make them stand and then re-click onto a new move on the menu but they still do the same previous movement!! What am I doing wrong??

I'm playing with a Mac.

Are you wearing an animation overrider (AO)?  If so, turn it off when using poseballs or menu driven furniture.
