This can be complicated, frustrating, and maybe even impossible, depending on your belly chain item.

If it's Modify:

  • Right click and select Edit
  • Use the colored position arrows to reposition it.
  • If it needs to be rotated, hold CTRL and use the colored rings to rotate it.
  • If it needs to be re-sized, hold down the CTRL+SHIFT keys and drag a white corner handle to re-size it.
  • If you can't get a good fit in this way, you're going to have to do it prim-by-prim.
  • Check the Edit Linked box in the Edit window.
  • Select a prim.
  • Move it into position
  • Repeat until all the prims have been repositioned

This can be tedious, frustrating, and horribly subject to slips of the mouse.  Make a safety copy of the item before editing!!!

If it has a re-sizing menu:

  • Click the item to open the menu
  • Select All Prims
  • Re-size as needed.
  • You can use the position and rotation controls as described above
  • If you need to edit this type of item prim by prim it may be VERY tedious.
  • Click on a prim in the chain, select This Prim from the blue menu
  • Use the menu choices to re-position the prim
  • Repeat until done or until you give up in disgust

Do this while on a pose stand.  But remember, when your avatar moves, the item may not move exactly as you'd like, because it's attached to a certain attachment point on your avatar.  Your fit may need to be a compromise to get the best results in any body position.
