If what I think you are discribing is what you are experiencing, that does not sound good.  Here's what I think you discribed.  You log in, everything pretty much loads for you, you can access your inventory, chat or IM, even open your map....but as soon as you move or spin your camera you get a black screen and your computer crashes.  If it's not that the disregard what I'm about to say.

 

The problem appears to be a graphics card (or adapter) heat issue.  The most common cause of heat related problems in any computer is dust accumulating on the card, motherboard, and other hardware components inside the computer.  Fans being clogged with dust or vents obstructed (very common with laptops being actually sat on laps or other soft surfaces....the ventalation holes are typically on the bottom of the computer).  Desktops are pretty easy to clean......just remove the side panel and get a can of compressed air and blow all the dust out, paying attention to all the fans where dust will build up.  Laptops are difficult so it's best to take it to a reputable repairs facility to let them do it (and don't place your laptop on your lap or a pillow or other soft surfaces while in use......get a cooling pad it a good idea too).  Go online and search for hardware monitoring software (there are plenty of good ones and many are free).  Try SL again (with the hardware monitoring program running) and watch your graphics card temp.  It will rise rapidly once SL loads but should stabilize at a temp below about 85 or 90 degrees celsius (the lower the better).  If the temp gets 95 or above you are getting dangerously close to overheating and you should shut SL down and find out why (or risk burning up your graphics adapter).

 

The problem is, though, that the damage has already been done to the card if it has been overheating (usually one or two times won't damage the card but more than that and it's possible something is damaged beyond repair).  If you crash before any significant temp then it's looking bad for the card but maybe it's not so list some computer specs and maybe a little more detailed discription of the problem plus any error messages.

 

To add to this thread go to the Options in the upper right hand corner of your text box and choose Edit.  Starting a new thread only confuses and makes it hard for anyone to help.  It's the software LL chose for this forum that makes it hard for the original poster to respond in a thread they've started........it's the only work around we know.

You could try to lower your graphics settings in Preferences.

Move to a different Region or change your Login location at the start screen.

Clear your cache.

If your Viewer was set to Auto-Update, and you suspect this update is the problem, you could revert to the earlier Release Viewer, or, an Alternate Viewer. 

The graphic card drivers on your computer may need to be updated.
