we build a little shop with a friend some years ago.as our product was really good looking ( and the very first sculpties sold on secondlife) we sold a lot ( around 2000 units of each models the first year ) . Unfortunately, a guy copied our sculpt map and packed it with some other stoled ones and sells them over the market ! Since that , a lot of people picked these sculpt map to design the same products as we are ( dolphins mainly ). but as they are not creators , they did that very bad and it's a prejudice to our shop's notoriety ! So we decided after a full year of tolerance , to fill a dmca ! It's was accepted by LL ( good news for us ) ! we made a complete dmca explaining were the texture came from , incriminating our neighbour that resells them ( yes scammers took a land near our shop to sell our products amongst many other ones (maybe stolen too.... ) ) and we provided the infringent sculpt texture uuid in it ( several days of search to make LL job easier - and to ensure all will be done correctly ) So one day , we receive a nice email stating that all was removed correctly according to the dmca. But all the products are still for sale on their lands , on sl marketplace, etc etc We were so disapointed.... we started then to fill tickets to know what happenned , to report all products with the dmca information, etc etc I'm sure i sent more than 100 objects reports , emails, tickets to LL without any response from them !!! and my collaborator did the same. i just got , one day , one of the linden contacting me and asking me to fill a dmca report ( they didn't even read us ) There's now 3 years people resells our products and some new "builders" build and sells dolphins with this sculpt texture this situation leads us to get rid of LL and never build again on secondlife ! so we stoped this great game cause of the stupid idiots that are paid to do anything but their job !! Now that we hear the mesh are arriving , we'd like to build some new stuff ... but the "mesh policy" makes me think that LL haven't changed their mind , they protects the thieves against the real creators.Thieves just have to accept this policy and do what they want ^^ funny isn't it ? So my question is : Is there a legal way to bring LL to justice in order to get them apply with dmca and certainly earn a lot of money cause they don't care about the laws ? Or , is there a way to force LL to comply with the dmca request they accepted ? Just like to know if a lot of ISP are not appliying a DMCA takedown notice or just only LindenLab I don't live in USA , so i'm not sure if it is an usual behaviour of all your ISPs ...
