I personally used to spend a lot of time as a cat or a dinosaur when not human. Curious what other people do.

When I first joined Second Life, in 2007, I spent most of my time as an otter (though not Lexxi at that time).

As Lexxi, again in 2007, I did spend a good bit of time as a cat. In picture: me doing "Planet of Cats".  My 'normal' cat, though, is the Calico in the picture of the kitty sleeping.

My alt has been waiting an hour for the head to be delivered - nothing. No response from the CSR either. If you're able to, I suggest you don't try to get Noelle right now.

No problem getting Noel, the male head...

Yeah, I waited an hour+ in the region. No head. No head after about 4 hours. I even tried again in case it just didn't work the first time.

I was in correct region. I was wearing correct Group. My 1Ls weren't refunded for using wrong group or whatever. And that second attempt at paying 1L to get head was an hour later, not immediately.

  3. This might have already been menioned, I tried reading everything up to this post here, but there are already 11 pages so far, so...

Beyond the basic "fly over this hole" type things people have mentioned, SL did have some "entry-level" "new user" experiences to get people up to speed. I say SL instead of LL, as I do not recall if this was a third party thing or LL.  I had an alt that, when they started in SL, started in a "Virtual CSI:NY". New users learned how to operate in SL by going through the game.

There was an I Am Legend one as well, though I don't recall if that was a new user experience.

They have various teams for various projects.

The moles and patch have worked their tails off working on Bellisseria over the years. Even tech support lindens that do premium plus house lot picking tickets will handle them on weekends they are normally off, putting in extra effort , going above and beyond.

Patch announced info on Premium plus lands, you may not see them currently on grid, but doesn't mean the progress isn't there for those willing to be premium plus members, or later upgrade to it to fit their needs.

Patch responded six days ago Am I the only one who can see Patch's response (well, I know I can't be, there are 20 reactions on Patch's post)?

Yes, you can post links, no worries.  Gorgeous home.  *Peers over your shoulder into your inventory to see what that wall texture is*   :)

    Attempts to zip mouth.  Fails.

Altho "perks" has made its way into common usage, the original term was "perqs", short for "perquisites":

I saw it more as: you will be losing your house, but to raise your spirits, to perk you up from being sad that your house is being bulldozed by the Vogons, be aware that the benefit, the perquisite of receiving a Linden home as part of your premium membership will remain: see the newer Linden Home Bellisseria continent.

The raise your spirits version of perk has been around for a good long while (1650s). Perk = perquisite version has only been around for 154 years (1869).

Lexxi! How nice to see you're still around!

I wish I had that much balance in heels...

    Thanks *mews*

Helps that I'm a cat.  Though I did, uh, intentionally roll foward and land on my feet (of course on my feet) trying to eat the geese.  Geese were mean and wouldn't get in my mouth.

Great collection!!! It is bodies there I never heard about.

Can you find clothes for them all?

I list Maitreya as a 2014 body because it was released 24th December, 2014.

Merry Christmas to Marianne from myself, I said, and bought the body that day, or the day after.

Clothing for all of them? Hehe - I giggle because I've almost never found clothing for Mirana when I bought it (around when it was released) or since.

I'm not sure about clothing. I tend to jump between a few, not all of the bodies. Mostly, lately, Erika, Reborn, and GenX.

I didn't think of it, but all on my 2014 line is gone now (including Slink). Technically a free version of TMP is still around, but I don't count that as TMP still being around.

Petites from 2012 are still around and stuff for it can still be bought. Dragon doesn't wear clothing.

For 2015 - Lara is still around. I think, though not sure, that Eve is still around. Kemono is the one Anime people wear (I think), so it's probably still active. No idea what "Elena" is, though I own it.

For the 2016 line: Tonic is still around, though they recently put out a new body (Prima) so not sure if it'll stick around. And I just bought an outfit from a recent event for the Prima body.

For 2017 & 2018: Never wore any of these for any length of time, so no idea if still around or have clothing available.

Legacy & Kupra are still around. Kalhene Ariadna is no longer sold. Not sure about Tinythings.

Kalhene Anya & Analexa are both no longer available to be purchased. Only Erika is still avaiable to be bought.

I still see clothing for all Belleza bodies, though more for Freya & GenX bodies. Cinnamon & Chai just closed. Digisona is still around, I think, but I've never seen it supported.  You can find clothing for Rebirth Eden (like Kalhene, Rebirth makes a lot of clothing for it's own body) & Lovebody.

Not sure about the other bodies.

I think the server I am on is not an option for people to join.

I joined a LGBT positive one:

"This instance is friendly towards anti-fascists, members of the LGBTQ+ community, activist movements, hackers, and anyone who doesn't think "free speech" is the only important human right. Anyone is welcome so long as they abide by the rules. This is not a free speech zone, Nazis ***** off.

We do not federate with fascist instances."

Remembering watching the king's funeral (1952) live on TV must make me feel older than what you feel with computers :D.

One of my earliest tv watching memories inolved being home from school, ill, and watching the Challenger explode live on tv.

Wait. That happened in 1986. For some reason I thought that was 1983.  hmm. Well, early memory, but I'd been alive before that so I must have earlier tv memories.

This is a great idea, btw. My late father in law never fully explained his exploits in WW2 to me (even though I'm a keen WW2 history buff) and I failed to ask some critical questions, though he was understandably reluctant to talk about certain parts of the war. The records of his medal of heroism are now lost, and no one to turn to for the full details. My own father (86) signed in MLB back in the late 50s and I am getting him to write all his experiences down, and he's gone at it full tilt, thankfully. Writing down his life story with gusto. But never too early to start writing down memories.

One of my grandfather's rose through the ranks to become a General. Fought in WWII, the Korean War, was in the area but I don't think he was involved with the Vietnam war.

One of my assignments when I was in school was to interview someone (I forget exact language used), and I thought (turns out wrongly) that my brother had interviewed my grandfather for a similar assignment. So I interviewed my grandmother to get a view of what it was like on the home front, and being a high ranking member of the red cross during WWII.

Wish I had more information about my grandparents (all of them). Lost the chance. And, apparently, there's nothing about any of my grandparents on the internet.
