doctor2 Mumsat

So I've been on SL for several years now (lately very inconsistently) and I've only just come into the Mainland (knowingly). I spent most of my previous time in Sandboxes and Private estates. I've decided now that I would like to rent out some land, preferably in the Snowlands in Sansara. I was just wondering if anyone could give me a quick summary of what the mainland is like? Is there any community spots where I can go and meet people? Any info would help, thank you.
