Is it possible to have one of the free linden homes and have firends who can visit it without me being there and rez things?

I use a wireless connection at home but SL always locks up after a few minutes. It does not seem to matter which viewer I am using. It works for all other applications, so I know the network is functioning. Any suggestions?
