When you log in to the Beta Grid (Adiit) there should be a notice on the screen that tells you that any object you create there and any Linden Dollars you have there can't be accessed from the main grid. When you enter the Aditi grid you are given a sum of money and that seems to be counted up now and then so you can upload textures for instance.
