Sounds like AA is not working because Deferred Rendering is not enabled, for AA to work you need to have "Advanced Lighting Model" enabled, also everything above 2x does nothing, unless its Firestorm in which case i heard they brought back the Multisample AA thus making 4x and so on actually work. I do not recommend forcing AA via drivers as it applies to everything including the UI and text making it harder to read.

Thanks, I'll look into that! Recently, I contacted Dell and the agent went in my system and increased the memory; he did this while I was in SL. Worked like a charm! I guess something changed when I performed the clear browser cache.

  2. It was suggested to me that I should check the Anti-aliasing in my graphics card control panel, in the graphics control center, but I can't find it there. This is what led me to believe that it's an outside issue from Firestorm. Every thing that you mentioned sounds true! And now I'm worried because Idk what to do. However, I will follow your lead. Thanks so much.

  3. Hi. Yesterday, I pulled up Preferences, Network & Files, and recently cleared my browser cache, but somehow something set off my graphics and made the outer line around my avatar, furniture, and every other item in-world, look extremely ridged. Before performing this action, the lines looked smooth, like a flawless drawing. It's appeared smoothly for several years now. Usually, I go into Phototools, Gen, and set the Anti-aliasing to 16x (smoothest), and the Texture Bumpiness to very fine. Btw, those are my current settings as well, but the ridged lines are still there! I often take photos, so you can imagine the horror I'm facing with the jagged lines! I'm wondering if this is an issue pinpointed outside of the Firestorm browser (graphics-wise) (though it shouldn't be because everything looks fine on my laptop screen), or is it solely based in Firestorm/Second Life? Did I reset something? Doesn't look like I did, but I could be wrong. I just want to get back to the clean, crisp, clear appearance that I had before all this took place, literally a day ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  4. Thanks! I'm trying all of this right now. Two more problems I'm having in BD. My avatar's shadow is ridged, and the appearance line around her (and other items) is a bit ridged as well. Smooth in FS, but not so much in BD. But I'm sure it's just settings issues on my end.

Btw, I heard that you have a discord? Also heard that you respond quickly on discord? I'm thinking about joining that. I'm in the Black Dragon group in SL, but I'm not sure if ppl use it anymore.

    Thanks for the help.

  5. Hey ppl. I'm in Black Dragon at the moment and I'm taking a pic. The skybox/backdrop I'm using is set a few feet above the sandbox's ground, of course. But when I'm inside and I rotate the camera to get a decent position, the floor disappears, revealing the ground of the sandbox. My question: is this a display, camera or draw distance issue? I back out a bit and zoom in, all to get the right shot, and I quickly notice that certain items that I have placed down disappear the second I draw outward. At this moment, it's impossible to take pics in BD. Any advice will do.

    Thanks.

  6. Hi all.

Does anyone know how to enable advance lighting in BD? I'm currently in the middle of a photoshoot, but can't seem to find the AL feature. I have looked high and low and couldn't find a form dedicated to anything related to the Black Dragon viewer, so I figured I'd post my message here. Thanks in advance.

If you installed the Firestorm update and it was working fine and is suddenly not then it isn't a Firestorm issue unless you have changed a setting, otherwise look for a windows update, graphic card update, LL server issues or any other thing aside from Firestorm.

None of the above pertains to me. It started acting up hours ago, others were saying the same thing, and now, it's fine.

Nope --- If Firestorm was broke, this forum would be flooded with threads from folks.

So, it is something about your Firestorm install and/or your computer and/or your connection.

Verify your re-install was a clean install, via the link that Moira gave.  Do a reboot of your router, modem, and computer.

It's not my computer nor my connection, for both are always in perfect order. And as I said before, I never have issues with the viewer, so it's not me, it's Firestorm.

When you did the uninstall of Firestorm, did you follow the steps on fs_clean_install [Phoenix Firestorm Project - Wiki] (firestormviewer.org) to ensure you were doing a full clean uninstall/install?

Also, have you tried downloading, installing and trying the LL viewer, for confirmation as to whether it's a Firestorm issue or perhaps a connection issue?

Yes! I did everything but download the LL viewer.

Have you tried to log in with the SL viewer to see whether that works?

If FS is having issues and there are several people having them, I'm sure they'll be fixed soon. You could try an older version meanwhile (assuming the SL viewer works, if not, it might not be the viewer itself).

I don't have the original SL viewer on my laptop. Jeez, I haven't had that viewer in years lol. But I probably should give it a try.

You know, I was thinking the same thing regarding them fixing the viewer. I sure hope it's soon.

And I deleted the recent version that was out shortly after installing of the newer version. I now regret this!

    Thanks for your reply.

  11. Hi. I'm having serious issues with Firestorm at the moment and I'm not quite sure why! For starters, I never have issues with loading, updates or anything involving signing in, so you can imagine my level of frustration at the moment. Now, everything has been running smoothly with the current updated. Then today, a major case of lagging began to kick in, and suddenly Firestorm just stopped working all together. I signed back in only to see the orange poof that appears during rezz...and nothing else. The landscape shows up, but not completely. And now, as of this very moment, I'm not able to sign in at all! I did manage to check the Firestorm group chat and quickly noticed that other people were complaining about performance issues as well. Unfortunately, my viewer refuses to load, so I can't access the group chat to ask what the devil is going on with the viewer! As we speak, I'm overly convinced that Firestorm is broken! There are no cache issues on my end. I uninstalled, and then installed again. I even tp'd to a sandbox to ensure login, but no dice. Nothing is working, and I have no clue as to what to do! I'm literally locked out of Firestorm!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
