  1. When editing the listing for a regular product in Marketplace, there is a button for adding a Demo Version. According to the Marketplace Wiki, it states: Demo Item - Want customers to be able to try before they buy? Demos tend to be clearly limited versions of the real thing you've modified in advance: for example, a skin with a "DEMO" tattoo on it. Click Add demo item to choose one. Demo items themselves can be unlisted.I tried just putting a demo in my unlisted inventory but it won't show up when I click the Add Demo Item button. If I create a listing for the demo version but leave that listing inactive, it will show up for the Add Demo Item button but when someone tries to request the demo version, it will just take them to the front page of Marketplace. Is it actually possible to provide a demo version without an active listing for the demo version itself? Is the wiki wrong about that?
  2. I' very confused as to how download impact is calculated. I created a mesh with 916 triangles. I made LOD models with 771, 516, and 309 triangles each. When I upload my mesh, using all four LOD models, I wind up with a download impact of 15.6. If I switch to using just my low and lowest LODs (516 and 309 triangles), I still get the same download impact of 15.6. I tried removing all sharp edges and completely flattening the UV map to eliminate seams and the download impact actually went up a little. If reducing the number of vertices does not reduce the download impact, what does?
  3. I recently noticed that some of my Marketplace listings have had their Maturity Level changed to "Moderate". I tried editing the level but it kept forcing it back to Moderate with this message: Successfully updated, but the text in the keywords field forced a change in the maturity level So I tried editing the keywords and discovered that the keyword that was making the difference was "gothic lolita". I do not understand the reasoning on this. Gothic Lolita is simply a fashion style with very frilly clothing, like a gothic dolly. The Listing Guidelines state that General is allowed for "Avatar goods that may be sexy, but are not sexual" but this Gothic Lolita isn't even necessarily sexy much less sexual. Why does the keyword "gothic lolita" force listings to be rated as Moderate?
  4. I checked my Vertex Weight Table and none of the vertices are affected by more than four bones.
  5. I'm working on a rigged mesh in 3DSMax and I'm having difficulty uploading it to SL. When I try, I get an error message about a "DAE Parsing Issue" and the log includes a line like: INFO: LLModelPreview::verifyCount: Error: (expected/got)6804/6155verts I have heard that this means that some vertices may not have any skin weighting but I went into the skin and checked the Skin Weight Table and there are definitely no vertices without skin weights. Is there anything else this line in the log could mean? For example, are there any limits on the number of bones to which a given vertex can be weighted?
