  1. Great, thanks! Just what I was looking for... Hide Selected, Ctrl-Z, Ctrl-. and Ctrl-, are all very useful for this!
  2. I have a tiny strand of hair in my eye, and I would like to move this aside. Normally I would edit linked objects, select that prim and move it. Unfortunately, it's surrounded by other prims, so I can't select it with the mouse; no matter what I do, I wind up selecting some other prim. Is there some way to get around this? I can imagine selecting some random prim and doing something like Alt-Tab to cycle through all other prims in whatever order. Is that possible? Thanks much for any suggestions.

  4. Object and avatar menus are a function of the viewer, not the bot, AFAIK. To pick up clicks on a bot, you could have it wear an invisible prim containing a script that handles the touch event. I'm not aware of any way in libomv to recognize clicks on a bot.
  5. Thanks, I just wanted to make sure, because some auto-translators claim to work with IMs. They mention something about copy & paste. I'm guessing they expect you to do that with each IM received, unless they figured out something clever to automate this.
  6. Is there really no way for a script (in a HUD) to receive IMs intended for the interactive user? I was looking for ways to create an IM auto-responder in a HUD. Any alternatives for this specific application? It seems strange that scripts can send but not receive IMs. Thanks for any suggestions.
  7. Yes, I've had similar experiences, but never the case of a mod object that's un-moddable.
  8. Thanks... I contacted the creator and she fixed it. It had something to do with setting permissions when objects are rezzed instead of in the inventory (or the other way around!) It's still strange, because the object looks copy/mod, only I can't actually do those things!
  9. I bought a skirt with mod/copy permissions, but seem unable to resize it. The object description says "You cannot modify this object," even though the inventory shows it as only no-trans. Whether I wear it or rez it on the ground, resizing is disabled. Could anyone explain or help me resize it? (BTW, there are no resize scripts in the object, either).
  10. Thanks, I'll check with the admin over there. I guess I need to set up a proxy for Firestorm. I still don't understand, because Phoenix works fine without a proxy... but whatever makes Firestorm work.
  11. At my local library, Internet service is firewalled (MS Forefront). I can log in with Viewer 2 and Firestorm, but I'm consistently logged out after 1-2 minutes. With Phoenix, I don't have this problem. With direct Internet at home, any viewer works fine. Is there anything I could try on the Viewer 2 platform to stay logged in when behind a firewall? Obviously it must be doing something differently with networking as compared to Viewer 1. I've tried changing some of the Networking settings, but to no effect. Thanks for any suggestions...
  12. A couple of pictures to show what I mean... this isn't me, but a friend has the exact same problem. The first picture below is fine, but the one below it shows the "hole" in the hair strand when looking from a different angle. Any way to explain or fix this?
  13. Thanks... it's a furry av, and there are very clear holes over the eyes, as though the eyes were in front of the hair. It's really strange, though: The holes suddenly disappear and everything looks good when I'm facing certain angles, depending on lighting. When I look at myself from a slightly different direction, the holes can reappear just as abruptly as they disappeared.
  14. I have an avi with strands of hair falling over eyes. The eyes are supposed to be partially covered by the hair, but somehow show through as though the hair were completely transparent. I tried editing these hair strands, but couldn't find anything to make them opaque against the eyes. It sort of looks like holes were cut in the hair just for the eyes. Is there anything I can try to fix this?
