Singularity 1.7 was just released a few days ago which now has multiwearable support so you can wear more then one alpha layer (previously it was only in the Multiwearable alpha version).

If you own 2 sides of the lot, and your neighbor who borders it on the other side has no interest in the lot, LL will usually allow you to claim it. They did for me, in my request, I had told them that. Though it took them 40 days to get back to me (this was 2 years ago, so your results may vary).
