  1. I seem to have this reaccuring problem where my textures look gorgeous when I make them, but then they become distorted and blurry when I put them on clothes or skin even when the object is fully loaded. It seems to be at an alright degree when I texture shirts, but I have issues texturing pants (because the crotch becomes distorted), and faces for skin. I'm working on a skin at the moment and I've tried everything to get the face it to show up properly. I tried different templates, graphic settings, image sizes, ect. but none seem to be fixing my problem of the skin not showing up properly. (I've followed the template I have perfectly, and have made the image size 256X256 and saved it as a TGA file.) Here are my specs: CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz (1999.77 MHz) Memory: 2039 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Service Pack 2 (Build 6002) Graphics Card Vendor: Intel Graphics Card: Intel 945G Windows Graphics Driver Version: 7.14.0010.1437 OpenGL Version: 1.4.0 - Build 7.14.10.1437 libcurl Version: libcurl/7.20.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8j zlib/1.2.3 J2C Decoder Version: OpenJPEG: 1.4.0.697, Runtime: 1.4.0 Audio Driver Version: FMOD version 3.750000 Qt Webkit Version: 4.7.1 I don't have this issue with skins made by other people (the skins I have work fine), but only with textures uploaded and placed onto a skin that I've made. I've tried using Pheonix viewer and Viewer 3 with the same result on both. Could it be a graphics card issue, file type issue, or file size issue? Any help would be appreciated. thanks! :D
  2. Well I did ask for help once but I got thoroughly lost with all the techy talk. My boyfriend was able to help me update my drivers, but it didn't solve the issue. I think I may need a new graphics card XDD. What kind of graphics card would you suggest using? I can get my specs if that's helpful, but I know that my graphics card is a discontinued product from Intel and is 3 years old. Also, how do you go about replacing a graphics card? And a good point well made. Do you know if there is anywhere on the sites that supplies minimum specs required in order to run the beta viewer? If not that would be a nice thing to have attached to the viewer download or nearby it . I've never had major graphical issues (besides my undergarments not wanting to change) until they introduced mesh.
  3. I do understand that LL wants our opinion, but I don't personally think going to another site just to tell them "what we think" is a very efficient way of communication between LL and the user. I've personally expirienced many problems with the new viewer since Mesh was introduced. It seems with the newer technologies they have implimented have only made it near impossible for me to have an enjoyable SL expirience. One of the major issues is that a majority of users use older systems, and those who have little to no knowledge of advance graphics are handicapped. It's not the fact that they don't know how to build, texture, or make mesh, it's just their computers can't handle the newer graphics. I don't particularly have money to go out and buy a $500 dollar graphics card. So in the end it comes down to two vital questions: Is this game for proffessionals as a practice ground for modeling, or a game that's meant for users everywhere reguardless of their modeling knowledge? At this point the game is becoming so complicated that it doesn't seem like much of a game anymore. So rather than a social playground, the game has become a portal for aspiring artists that crave to have their work critiqued and presented in front of real proffessionals and clients. I think most users with older systems prefer the older viewers because they are stable, and don't require much computer knowledge to play. However, the newer systems are more techy and end up very complicated and hard to understand, so much that it's sometimes difficult to diagnose a specific problem.
  4. Okay so I just downloaded the latest version of SL in order to use these new mesh Yukatas I got off the marketplace. For a while everything seemed normal. I was on the low settings and the mesh worked fine. I only started having issues when I tried to turn the graphics up to mid. Like my avatar dissapeared and my menus got so trasparent I could barely see them. I put it back on low, and a few seconds later it was fine. I tried to see what it would to on high or ultra, and then, along with the transparency, the screen tinted red. Then it wouldn't even work when I put the graphics back to low! I've been able to relog and have it work on the low setting (Sometimes with my feet and torso missing, but there is a transparency shirt to the Yukatas and when I take it off and put it back on it seems to go back to normal.), but I like playing the game with mid graphics. I'm still using what claims to be the viewer 2 launcher (even though it's now updated to 3. whatever it is.) I've never had graphic problems like this before. Can anyone help me so I can fix this and play sl? :( Found the specs :D CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz (1999.77 MHz) Memory: 2039 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Service Pack 2 (Build 6002) Graphics Card Vendor: Intel Graphics Card: Intel 945G Windows Graphics Driver Version: 7.14.0010.1437 OpenGL Version: 1.4.0 - Build 7.14.10.1437 libcurl Version: libcurl/7.20.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8j zlib/1.2.3 J2C Decoder Version: OpenJPEG: 1.4.0.697, Runtime: 1.4.0 Audio Driver Version: FMOD version 3.750000 Qt Webkit Version: 4.7.1 Edit: I did attempt to update my drivers. It helped, but I'm still having graphical issues. I think I may need to get a whole new graphics card. I use a emachine PC and I got it 3 years ago. I'm not computer savy so please try to explain in simple terms. Please and thank you! :D
