Shanti Mistwallow

I recently had my communication box (chat) open and accidentally swiped down with it, and now its gone! So I cannot talk to anyone other than in local, nor can I receive messages (IM's, chat). I've scrolled way out and it's simply not there! Does anyone know how to fix this?
