  1. oh just saw what you said about being banned, not that I know of. I can log into my profile on the website just fine. And haven't seen any emails to the contrary.
  2. Thanks for your help anyway. And yes, this is my personal computer at my house and not on a university or work connection. I've checked to make sure my firewall wasn't blocking it and even uninstalled my antivirus, antimalware to see if that was the issue. I'll contact my isp and see what they say about all this.
  3. Yep, did that too. I can go to the website, play other online games and browse the web all I want, voice chat on Skype, but when it comes to SL. I can not log in. The logo for the varioius viewers won't even show up.
  4. For the past two weeks I have been having this issue. I attempt to log in to seconlife on various viewers on various accounts and each time I get a DNS hostname error. I posted a question here a week or so ago and got a few ideas to fix the problem. All of which have not worked. I'm on a Windows 7 laptop that is wired to the modem. I've attempted the ipconfig /release and renew. I've tried using both google's and various other dns servers. I've tried redownloading my drivers. I've done a ipconfig /flushdns. I am literally at the end of my rope with this. Is there anyone that can help?
  5. I've been on Second Life for some time. This is the first time I've encountered this problem. Yesterday I logged off for several hours and when I returned and attempted to log back in I got a DNS error. I've read the forums and answers and have tried everything that was suggested. Even leaving my computer off, the router disconnected as well as the modem over night. Still I get the same DNS error message. I can log into the website, obviously, and any other website I might try. I can log into other online games, just not SL. I've even attempted to use the Google DNS alternate server addresses, nothing seems to work. Anyone have a clue to what could be the issue?
