Thanks, I updated my card driver but that didn't help. I'm not using Google's DNS. Could there be any other cause? To be clear, I never get a time out; I left SL running over night and it just hung at "Connecting to region...". It never failed or gave an error of any kind.

Hello all. I submitted a support ticket on this issue but have not yet heard back so I figured there was no harm trying here. I haven't played in years but am trying to get back into it, if the game lets me. The viewer gets stuck at "Connecting to region..." and does not progress. I've tried both the normal SL viewer and Firestorm. Both have the same problem. I've tried multiple regions, including Last Location and Home. There is no difference. I've cleared the cache for both, reinstalled, checked with my firewall and anti-virus disabled as well as making both programs allowed for both. Nothing seems to make a difference. I am connecting from my home PC and not using Wi-Fi. Is there any way to ping a region to be sure I can connect or any other things I can try to get this resolved? It's been like this for about four days. TIA
