  1. Anyone who has been on Second Life for a number of years must have had this: You login to do some work on your shop, your event, whatever it is that you are busy on in Second Life. You don't have all day for it, so it requires just one thing: FOCUS Then some friend IMs you, for whatever. Saying Good Morning! maybe. Followed by the next person who is bored and dependent on you or anyone to amuse themselves. Some days when logged in, it's just like I have my mom calling me the moment I wake up. And then again every 5 mins after that. Since not all of us can be all Zen all the time, this can get pretty disturbing. So what do we do? We get the hell out of here and login with an alt, without 'friends', that can do the job quietly and undisturbed. There seems to be no other solution in Second Life, as you can't login and blanket hide your online status in the communications tap/popup window. It's either setting them per person, pruning contact lists all the time, or living with the friction. Personally: I live with the friction, since cleaning up years of contact list is almost as bad as cleaning up inventory. When I still ran a shop, I used to sometimes login an alt and then later use a prim-copier to protect myself from being disturbed all the time. How do you sort this issue? Wouldn't some of you love to have better options to set privacy than logging in the next alt account to flee from your friends?
