  1. Am I the only one to feel as a woman an absolute advantage in social situations comparative to the advantage men have in upper body strength and bone density etc. I feel it in rl too in social situations. Come on ladies, you know what I'm talking about.

In sl  I have met only a handful of men who can fully comprehend what's going on. No offense intended

I get what you are saying here. As a male avatar it is much easier for me to say no to a request I am not interested in vs when I use my female avatar. I wouldn't term it vulnerable per se but just see it as that more challenging to say No thank you. There is also the aspect that it is my observation that others are less likely to take no as a response to a female avatar than a male one, as I do see that when the male says no, there is rarely a badgering to change the mind rather than the female one which sees that it more regularly.

I think maybe that has more to do with how you behave as a woman than other people. I have a male alt. I find people are friendlier towards him than me, probably because his name is "Alt" and he has no profile. He isn't taken seriously from the get go. Whereas when I am myself, I still have a lot of fun. I do find men less aware of how others perceive them so sometimes you can be subtly teasing them and only the other women around have any idea. Awwwww bless. Men are so cute 😍

Okay fine, I understand this may be another controversial topic, but bear with me, the thought came to my head.

I'm a man in real life but I still enjoy using woman avatars. But for some reason, when I'm a woman in a place with other avatars, I have more of this feeling of "vulnerability" than when I'm using a man or non-human avi. I guess you can attribute it to a higher chance of getting hit on by men (but I still enjoy their compliments if done in a nice way.)

I was wonder what you guys think of this.

I think maybe you're feeling like an imposter, not vulnerable. I have never felt vulnerable in sl. And since it's a social game and women literally have more gray matter in that area, I have definitely felt that advantage 😜

I hate to admit this but I've made 2 alts and lost them because I can't remember the log ons. lol

I logged in my male alt today for my friend to check out because she needed a back up date for a wedding on hand...... He's a work in progress...........he won't be attending any weddings until he gets a full makeover 🤣

  5. @Arielle PopstarLife is not a game if you are a responsible adult with people leaning on you. But it is competitive. All the games we make are safe with rules etc. Life is life......sorry that statement triggered me. Nurturing and teaching my daughter is not a game. Giving my husband emotional support is not a game. Worrying about my mother in laws health and how we can support her as she becomes less independent is not a game.

Change isn't always good, especially by touting the higher populations of AVChat and Minecraft or whatever as an example for what we should move toward. I experienced them as very young, hyper people, shooting me with paint guns and screaming lewd comments.

Don't forget, the majority of the population here is middle-aged women, doing a lot of shopping, and the types of people described above in massive numbers will drive us away.

Yeah, massive numbers of broke people begging for linden

Love the water!!! Where did you get it?

that's just the beach pack from skye. So you sink the entire land just under water level so that the edge of the beach blends perfectly with the parcel sand, and then you begin sinking the land a little at a time farther out. It creates that effect. Love it

I've certainly run across my share of pretty incompetent hosts, who did little more than greet new arrivals, or would just periodically inject spammy gestures into local (which had, I think, the opposite effect intended).

    I really hate this

You can say exactly the same thing about "humans." In my experience, most people don't interact with strangers they happen to be in the same place with - say, in a store or on public transportation. Somebody might occasionally throw out a one-liner or random comment, which may get a reply, but that's the exception. A very few times you'll run into people who will start a random conversation with you - the person next to you on a bus, for instance - but a lot of people would find those conversations to be "creepy."

This is true, you should never start a conversation with someone in a place they can't escape from; elevators, queues, at a bus stop....

  11. I don't inflict my voice chat on people in local (sales background) People in sl are way too chill for that. Instead I chat in local at 40wpm typing speed 🤣. It's a lot of fun.....for me. Only kidding. But yes I am a local chatter at clubs. Usually commenting on the music. "Everyone jump if you feel this tune needs some cowbell" Also, my avatar always looks judgemental and sulky, so that's hilarious in itself. Look at this face! Having the time of her life. Screenshot_20230625-095247_Chrome.jpg.8416db666ef1dbfaedbea137c2bda552.jpg
