Thanks, trying to follow your suggestion but in the meantime, I have checked the stats when running on myb laptop, as follows. The only difference compared with my desktop PC that appears significant to me is the hardware - graphics card and CPU. Am I right?

Still, it's odd because I ran SL on my PC a few years ago with no problem. The only change since then is upgrade internet service to fibre which gives much higher speed than previously.

Thanks for your response. Info follows as requested but first I will mention that I have no trouble on my laptop, so the problem is not internet connection. However, I would much prefer to be able to use this PC.
