Thanks, trying to follow your suggestion but in the meantime, I have checked the stats when running on myb laptop, as follows. The only difference compared with my desktop PC that appears significant to me is the hardware - graphics card and CPU. Am I right?
Still, it's odd because I ran SL on my PC a few years ago with no problem. The only change since then is upgrade internet service to fibre which gives much higher speed than previously.
