Hello! We will answer some frequently asked questions in this post. 1.) How do we handle bidding and sale? Just make your offer in a private message. On January 6 we will get in touch with the winner and initiate the sale. This sale is conducted safely through the Linden Lab ticket support system - you don't have to pay us directly. 2.) How does renting work after purchasing the region? An amount of US$229 is paid to Linden Lab every month. This amount is taken from the US Dollar balance of your Tilia Account. If you don't have sufficient credits, the difference will be topped up from your payment method on file. 3.) What do we mean with "excl. VAT"? Excluding value added tax. Residents of the European Union also have to pay value added tax directly to Linden Lab. For us the monthly rent used to be US$354 including VAT when starting out. In 2018 the tier was lowered and we paid US$298.80 (US$249 excl. VAT), and later was lowered again to US$274.80 (US$229 excl. VAT). Why buy Arcadia instead of saving money when buying a new region directly from Linden Lab? Buyers may each have their own reasons. We believe one reason may be that Arcadia is among the most popular regions of its particular market niche, which could provide a distinct advantage in discovery for establishing a new business or club featuring related themes. 5) What we mean with "proceeds will go to the caretaker of the various collar temples for the past years"? The Temple of the Collar has been an iconic landmark on Second Life for over 10 years, and has been maintained in great effort. The maintainers struggled with project funding during 2020, but still kept offering free content to SL residents, and stood up for humanitarian causes. While we cannot continue to pay the rent every month, we can ensure the money of the region sale goes where it helps the most. 6) What is Three Kings' Day? Three Kings' Day marks the end of the winter holidays in many European countries. Until then we have time to help out our friends on SL. 7) Will we lower the price of the region if nobody bids? We are happy to let you know that people already expressed interest in purchasing the region. That's why we posted this FAQ. Arcadia is a private full region. The monthly tier is US$229 (excl. VAT). Billing date is January 14, 2021. As home of the Temple of the Collar and related venues, Arcadia positioned itself among Second Life's most popular regions. While we cannot give any guarantees, we expect the region will see residual traffic for a considerable time following the sale. This could provide a distinct advantage over a blank slate for establishing a new business or high-profile club featuring similar themes. Bids for the region will start at L$250,000. The present owner will cover the transfer fee. We will be accepting bids until Three Kings' Day, January 6.
