@LeandraStarchaser If you crashed before you accepted the purchase being sent then unfortunately you cannot get that prompt asking you to accept the item back again.  If the store has a Redelivery terminal then you should try that as your first place to go.  Your purchase will be registered and can be obtained from there.  Failing that contact the owner of the shop, tell them what happened and ask them to redeliver it.  If it was a no-copy item then you probably will be out of luck because customers generally only get one copy of those per purchase.

You might want to consider turning on the option to automatically accept new inventory items which will cure this problem and I have never lost a delivered item this way because it doesn't rely on the viewer actually running to accept items.

    To do this:

On Firestorm, go to Settings and under the General tab there is an option called  "Automatically accept new inventory items", make sure that is ticked.
On the official viewer it is accessed via a debug setting called "AutoAcceptNewInventory" (read here on how to enable and access debug settings: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Torley_Linden/Debug_Settings) and you should set that to "True".

Auto-accepting items this way can never do any harm except that if you don't keep an eye on what's automatically accepted then you can end up with a lot of unsolicited junk in your inventory.

    Hope this helps.

thank you so much for that information. it was a big help.

What exactly do you mean by this? The blue popup windows are notifications, not objects. Notifications can be sent by objects, like "Nefarious Device owned by Lindal Kidd is requesting permission to take L$ from you. Allow/Block?" If you get notices like that, be very careful about clicking "allow" or "accept".

Some objects or HUDs worn by others attempt to crash you by making hundreds of these notices pop up in a short time period, overloading your viewer. Firestorm can be set to limit the number of notices it will accept in a short time period which will keep such attacks from working.

the pop-up windows I am talking about were from stores that had objects in them that needed to be clicked on, however, I had crashed before I could click on it, and I lost the blue popup windows.

Assuming you mean the blue dialog - no, there's no universal way to get that back. When it's closed, it's gone.

If there is a way to get it back, you need to know what exactly it was and go from there.

For example, it could've been an update notification from one of your attachments. In that case it might show up again later. It could've been something someone sent you while you were offline, in which case it'll be somewhere in your inventory regardless.

thank you for the help. Guess I am out of luck then. Dang the crashes of firestorm.

  4. Hello all. Right, straight to the point then. I use firestorm viewer.  I had logged in and saw that I had popup windows with objects in small blue boxes however, I did not get a chance to click on them because I crashed, and all the boxes have now disappeared. Is there any way to get these objects back? please help if you can.

I have had the same problem for 2 days now. I can log in to SL, I can login to my page and the SL community, but I can't login to Marketplace. I either get the message that the username and password are incorrect, or I come back to the start page, without being logged in.

    Very frustrating.

i understand your frustration. I had logged in fin the other day into marketplace, but then today couldn't even get into the page. but yet my friend was able to log in with no problems. So I am like what's the deal. so unfair :(

There are a few people reporting the same thing on the forums.  The grid status says the issue was resolved hours ago but I guess when support opens in a couple of hours they will get a lot of reports its not fixed.  I can only say you are not alone (its working fine for me) and keep an eye on the grid status

oh wow good to know its not just me. I thought i had done something wrong.. thank you for letting me know. I will keep my eye on the status for sure thank you.

  7. hello all, not sure if this is in the right  category or not but I am trying to log into the marketplace and for some odd reason I can not. When i type in my name and password it takes it and then it takes me to the main page with the sign in at the top again. I have no clue as to why this is happening. What i can do to fix this? can someone tell me please?

When I was new, I indiscriminately collected all of the free stuff I could find, resulting in my having a large, unorganized collection of mostly junk that kept growing because I was afraid to delete anything.

I strongly advise against doing what I did. The free promotional items from nice shops are generally of good quality. Seek those out inworld and on marketplace. Right now, as has already been mentioned, the Stay at Home group is providing some good opportunities to get some good stuff free.

SL is not necessarily expensive as hobbies go. If you don't own or rent land, ongoing expenses once you have what you need are limited to costs associated with upgrading your avatar and wardrobe to keep up with technical improvements and whatever you choose to spend on additional clothing and avatar components and accessories. It is a lot easier to make a nice avatar and wardrobe with just a little money than no money because a lot of nice promotional merchandise is offered at low prices, and because some groups that offer nice group gifts have nominal joining fees. (Some have substantial joining fees; I avoid those. ) If you got nothing free, but did pay attention to avoiding overpriced stuff and getting good value for your money, you could have an very nice up-to-date avatar and a more-than-adequate wardrobe for 50-60 USD.

Unless you do stick to freebies, don't rush too much, unless you don't mind replacing things that you got before you understood what you needed with better things later. It takes some time to learn what goes into a good avatar.

I hope you enjoy SL as much as I do.

Look me up inworld, if you wish, and I'll help you, if I can. I can show you a few stores with good group gifts.

thank you for that info. I will keep that in mind as I continue to grow in second life. and thank you for the offer.

  9. Hello all! My name is Leandra.

I am super new to second life. I heard from some people that where trying to help me out. There was a place for newcomers where they could get freebies. This place had a pirate ship with all kinds of outfits free, but wen I asked what the name was, no one could remember. So they said I could try to ask in forms. Someone here might know. I would really appreciate it if someone knew and could tell me. Thank you for reading my text.
