  1. The Catwa Freya was given out as a gift a while back - can be switched between male and female neck sizes. I don't know if it's still being given out, but it's something to check. I was able to get some decent male looks from it, young to older depending on the skins.

  2. I just let 2 linden homes go back up for grabs today. Having some serious talks with myself about downgrading accounts and using the money saved to pay down some bills. Got a couple coming up for renewal between now and spring. Right now all I have is a 512 mainland, testing to see if my alts can live on it. Game of Homes has been the main activity for the past couple of years, and I need to see if there's something else to interest me in SL.

  3. I'd like to add to this, I really hate the trend now of asking people to go online to another website, to fill out an application where the person hiring wants real life information. There is no reason in the world for them to need this. They don't need my name, my phone number, my email address, my street address, or anything else for a job in SL that pays less than it would cost to get your car washed.

  4. You can change them under your parcel information, the environments tab.

If you're in the US, the Sherwin-Williams paint site lists all the RBG numbers for their paints, under the details tab for each color. Lets you pick the exact color you need to redecorate.

  5. There was one gift card I got that was just under the usual amount for items in their store. The only single item in the store I could buy - in an out-of-the-way location and basically the absolute last thing you could find in the store - was panties. Just one.  I would rather they just give me the panties than make me come to their store and spend 45 minutes trying to track down what I could buy with the gift card.

  6. Now that I've had my nap, and looked over the list of benefits for P+, I think I'm going to dip my toe in the plus pool. As a frequent name-changer (be who you want to be, and all that), I will at least break even with what I could save on changing names. OK, maybe I hang onto this name a while. Maybe my name will be changed 3 times in two months. Maybe not. For the times I am feeling loads of anxiety, and thinking my avatar needs to be in a witness protection program, this will make things easier for me.

So, yeah, I'm changing my vote to worth it to me. YMMV.

  7. I simply do not know what to do when interacting with animal avatars. I don't know if they think of themselves as human who looks animal, or animal that can communicate to humans. Then I get weirded out at the idea of one of them jumping on me or god forbid rub up against my legs like a real cat would do. So, yeah I probably said or did something weird with animal avatars at some point.

Don't even get me started with Slender Man. He scares the bejaggers out of me.

  8. I won't be sucked in with a promise of "soon" this time around. I made that mistake with the new linden homes. I waited for them to be released, and then I had to wait additional months and months after they were released because there weren't enough to go around. Fool me once....

Not to say I absolutely won't ever upgrade, but I would have to see some tangible benefits immediately on signing up that would be worth the extra cost to me right at that moment, not a promise of better things in the future.

  9. Weighing in on the thigh bands. In my lifetime, I've known some women who were stocking-wearers back in WW1 and WW2. And they wore stockings with the round garters that slid up their legs and held up the stockings. Depending on what sort of woman it was, and how daring they were, their stockings would either be held up with garters just above or below the knee. (Proper ladies, of course had dresses long enough that they gartered below the knee.) Anyway, the stockings were rolled down around the garters until they hit the right spot to stay up. And it had to be tight enough to not slide down. This did indeed leave marks that would stay for a long time. These were utilitarian, not lacy fetish items. Garter belts were a liberation of sorts from the tight rolled garters.

  10. Years ago, when Paypal was a new thing, I had to go through a verification process with them that involved them making two small deposits into my bank account (it was less than a dollar total) and when the deposits cleared, I had to go back onto the paypal site and put in the amounts of the two deposits. Then they considered my paypal account as verified. They probably have a different system in place now, but that's what it was then.

"Because it's their land" in RL wouldn't allow a landowner to blow someone away on their land, with no warning, or before a reasonable request to leave the property (then give them reasonable time to do so) - and every court of law will back this up. Being a landowner isn't a license to blow people away.

I'm not sure where you're from. Let me assure you, if a naked man showed up in my living room in RL saying he wanted to get to know me, the laws here would back me on blowing him away. However, I'm not taking such drastic action in SL. All I'm doing is removing someone who did not accidentally wander in. If he doesn't like where he lands, too bad.

We just don't know for sure what meaning it has for them and why they desire privacy, as there are so many possibilities, but I do know it's not right for you to insult and ridicule another because of the personal space and privacy they need.

I have some mainland property. Most of my time is spent in my skybox over a mile in the sky. I had my security set for 15 seconds, with a nicely worded message. Then some ass materializes in my living room, wanting to get to know me, just because he'd seen a female name on the map. It was not an accidental oops. This was a deliberate action. After banning him, I set my security for 1 second. Don't like it? Get stuffed. I don't need random asses deliberately invading my home. I don't owe them a cup of tea and directions to the nearest train station. They were not welcome the moment they entered my property without an invitation.
