  1. On this av, yes, always human. On my alt that I use for wandering, I have some (quad) animal avatars, mostly from TWI. I find it super peaceful to explore as an animal. Creating them is fun too, with all the mods available. I've been a furry once or twice, couldn't really get into it. Though, again, lots of beautifully made mods out there.

  2. I spent a lot of time here when I was suffering through grief and depression. I don't necessarily use SL the way many others do (i.e. I'm not hugely social here - I mostly do my own thing) but I did find the familiarity and distraction to be comforting during that time. I have also learned a lot here that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. It's a fun and engaging creative outlet for me.

So maybe not in the huge, life-changing way that it has for some people; but yeah, I'd say SL has added positively to my life.

  3. I think the only thing that the sales have changed for me is that I shop more, period. Lol. I like checking to see if there's decor/landscaping/accessories/etc. in the sales, which I normally wouldn't shop for at all. I'm boring like that. Clothing I mostly still buy full price from mainstores or events, because the styles I see on the weekend sales aren't usually my thing. Though I have occasionally landed in a store to check out their sale item and ended up buying non-sale things from their store too. I think there are probably too many weekend sales at the moment, but overall I think they're a nice thing that creators can do for people.

  4. I demo-ed the bodies. I really, really like the classic version and I did not expect that. The curvy...is nice. But comparing it with my reborn body, I still prefer the reborn. I didn't buy it yet because I want to see how supported the bodies will be in the future. Like, if people only rig for the curvy then I'll pass. If the classic gets the same amount of support, I do like it enough to purchase it. I know I saw on flickr yesterday (?) that the dev kit is available now. So yay on that.

Biggest SL pet peeve, when a store hands out LMs through a bot and if you go back. It doesn't record that your avatar has already been there, it just keeps on giving you the LM.

Omg this. Also, stores that automatically send you anything when you walk in: landmarks, join my group, hey here's a texture of our newest release! Please stop.

I was unpacking a purchase the other day and upon clicking the unpacker I received an automated IM AND a group invitation at the same time. If I want to join your group I am capable of doing that on my own. I also know how to IM people for possible customer support.

This is certainly a peeve of mine.

  6. I didn't know art needed to be fixed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Art is largely subjective, and so are things like "beauty" and "aesthetic."

I find AI "art" interesting, because I like new technology. I do think it's a problem, as stated by @StarlanderGoods, for the human artists these algorithms uh...borrow from. I don't think that's a net positive for art in general, no.

The only days I dread are my Dad's Birthday and the date of my dad's death. The worst two days of the year for me.

My father died that year on December 29th.  Knew it was coming and nothing could be done.

We need a hug reaction on this forum.

My dad died 4 years ago, in July. His birthday was also in July. I won't say I dread those dates, but that whole month has a sort of looming-dark-cloud feeling over it for me now.

    (hugs you both)

I'm a lurker of the internet at large. I rarely ever comment anywhere. I'm just another introvert I suppose, I'd rather watch the show than be in it. I like the photo threads and will hit a like on some of the posts there. I've recently started hitting like (or laugh) on some posts in GD. Baby steps I guess? I just find that I don't often have a lot to say, or that what I would say has already been stated.

Y'all seem pretty cool though, and I love SL so when I've got nothing to do I read through these forums. I just like to read. :)
