Oh no. There are surprisingly many vacancies in the old Linden Homes now but the regions aren't anywhere near empty and unless LL starts actively evicting people, there's no reason to beleive they will be in the foreseeable future.
I would be very suprised if that doesn't include most SL users. I mean, where is the average SL'er supposed to hear about those new homes? The ones who read the official bloghs and log on to the forums is a very tiny minority after all.
This is especially true for the Linden Homes owners since most of them doesn't seem to be active in SL at all anymore - they're "Rip van Winkles" who keep their SL homes for old time's sake but hardly ever log in and certainly don't keep track on what's happening in SL.
hmmm, interesting, I have been a premium member for the best part of ten years, have a Linden home and also own a couple of private regions ... I'm active in SL every day ...but i don;t follow any blogs or posts and rarely read forums (only came here because this thread caught my eye) but I have heard nothing about new Linden homes - as far as I've noticed I haven't had any communication from LL about it - what is that all about? are the new homes nicer than the cramped old ones?

Thank you both. All is clear now.

To clarify, I’ll be exporting the four objects as a single dae and importing to SL in a single upload resulting in a four piece linkset. I have usually used a physics model with the same configuration (ie four pieces in a single dae) but was wondering if it was ok to make the physics model in one piece covering the whole model (which I don’t intend unlinking) which would allow me to use fewer polys. The same question goes for the lower lod models. Thanks for the answer and I’ll check out the links you’ve posted

Hi
im working in blender 2.79 on a model which consists of 4 separate objects in blender.
My question is whether I need to make a separate physics model and LOD models for each of the four parts or whether I can make a single physics model and single LOD models covering the whole linkset?
thanks.

Thanks, I'll have a look .... my underlying point here, of course, is that I consider myself very active in SL, albeit without bothering to look at blogs etc ... so I imagine that are a huge number of premium members who have no clue about this.
