    1. I like coming up with a narrative through random thoughts as I play the character, and eventually molding that into said complicated backstory.

    2. I enjoy consistency, that way I'm not accidentally bringing up something that I retconned a long time and getting it mixed up with my own headcanon.

    3. I use my default name so it doesn't matter to me, though I do like seeing how creative others names can be.

    4. I use my own custom tag ("Bow to the Queen") so I have no reason to have those off.

  2. An alt or no alt? I have an alt and I use him to pose for photos sometimes.

A day photo or a night photo? I love face lights with a night setting.

Physics or no physics? Largely depends on the clothing.

Prioritize frame rate or quality? Depends on how busy an area is.

Cutesy clothes or more subdued ones? Depends on my mood that particular day, though I lean more towards colourful, vibrant looks.

  3. I have never had such an issue with bots or griefers that my mind immediately goes to "end free memberships". In my decade of SL, I've encountered like two griefers ever.

The moment I'm forced to pay to access SL is the moment I jump off the sinking ship it would quickly become. It'd be the virtual Titanic and the paid membership is the iceberg.

  4. I would go for things like freckles, hand tattoos, eyebrow cuts, body and face moles, etc. Maybe add piercings and wristbands. Go for a more natural shape over the hourglasses or the barrel chests

"Unique" to me is breaking the mold of the plain barbie doll that grips a lot of SL avies and going for realism/flaws. Perfection is boring to me.

  5. I finally figured out how Firestorm's AO loader works. Previously I, like a dummy, would try to copy animations directly from my AO attachments to the widget, not realizing it needed a link to add them and I had to copy the animations to my inventory first.

Problem solved, now I can mix and match all my cutesy animations and get rid of my script consuming AO attachments for good.

  6. Reddit Second Life is dead and there really isn't a good alternative anywhere else.

So I come here to share photos of my characters and my experiences living in this weird, wacky virtual world. And in doing so, I also get to read about the experiences of others and how they interpret this world differently from me. Seeing such a wide variety of unique avatars is always a pleasure, and sometimes they inspire me to A) try to up my photography/avatar game a little bit, and B) take notes so I can emulate their fashion sense.

That's largely what I get out of this place.
