Furzona comes to mind. I think it’s M rated and technically has rules which allow non sexual nudity but the status quo there is to not do that and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything explicit there.

I'll have to check it out! thank you.

I think you should go for it too. "If you build it, they will come", and all that :)

I've known and been part of various mainland communities over the years. One that was really good - might still be there, but I haven't been in yonks - is/was Inspire Space Park. And there was a ranch run by some very nice German people (but they ended up moving to a private region I think because land was cheaper to rent there than their tier fees were costing). Also pony players had a place on mainland, and there are also various themed places on mainland, Jack the Ripper museum off the top of my head is one of them.

    Good luck with your venture.

Aww that's awesome :D I just wasn't sure about MainLand to much as I've only owned some recently! I will 100% give it a shot! Thank you for the confidence boost!

I think it could work, depending on the theme and goals. Why not try it, anyway.

I think I will give it a shot. I love building, so worse thing that can happen is no one wants it, I rip it down, and I build another place ha ha!

  4. I have a small plot of land with 5K Prims, and I frankly don't use it much, but I'm not going to get rid of it. I was thinking of making a small Community RP sim in a winter area of the MainLand.

I'm not sure thought if many people are interested in being in a Community on the MainLand. It seems like most Community RP sims are Private regions. Any thoughts?

I think it has not  a lot to do with SL rules and policies, but the covenant of the one you rent from. Those rules can be stricter and different to the general rules that LL gives in the TOS and policies.
You state yourself they found you break a rule on their land. In that case the landlord has the right to end the rent. You agreed to those rules at the moment you started renting there.
You have a nearly to zero chance LL will step into this case. Unless there are signs they broke the TOS.

Yeah, really sucks. It's the Reason I buy my own land and stopped renting. But gave it a shot again and here we are lol

Sounds like a resident to resident dispute. If they own the land they are able to do whatever they want.  Maybe try to be very nice and ask for a refund but if they don't give it to you there isn't much you can do.  I hope you didn't pay for more than 1 week rent.

I did sadly. It's sad this type of thing happens.

  7. I know Second Life has some pretty off the rails policies and basically, if you don't like something / someone you just block or go away.

BUT, my friend was recently banned from a land for some very vague rule breaking without any warning. The rules of the land say they don't give refunds for any reason, but is this actually legal on Second Life? Should they be giving him and ME and refund? Because after they did this to him, I don't want to be there either any more and I don't want to give my money to a place like this.

Is there anything we can or should do?

I have a basic dummy setup of folders for my clothing by company because I have a tendency to sweep a half off sale but I rarely buy fat packs and I like to layer. So for example this week it was ‘Rowne > separates  ‘tops’, ‘bottoms’. Then under tops ‘lower’ & ‘upper’ to give myself the quick reference to how they will layer. All the bras, bikini tops, bralettes, tanks & corsets in ‘lower’. Everything blouse, wrap, jacket, coat, sweater, shrug, in ‘upper’. I’ve done this for several years with their clothes, and Ison too. It makes wearing their particular style of clothes much more fun and creative.

I see! I once had my stuff organized via brand as well. I might go back to it, maybe? I think I've been to dead focused on trying to organize all parts of my inventory in a similar fashion.

I’m trying to nest things more, for instance decor, home decor, ‘wall decor’ instead of several top-level folders with wall hangings, paintings, pictures wall art up at a higher level. I’ve done ‘tabletop’ for anything that usually sits on a table, and yep, ‘dining/tabletop’ under that, snd so is ‘countertop’. I’m trying to un-flatten my inventory and make it deeper. So far it’s making sense. I’m also spending time just reducing things like old lm, notecards and demos - but I do each activity separately, and kind of swap off. Occasionally a few friends and I sort together and hilarity ensues in a bizarre show and tell scenario.

I have the Wardrobe, and I used it a bit, it seemed like a good idea once set up  - but I’m mostly back in the Official viewer these days, so it’s not useful there.

I like that idea! I think getting the décor settled in one job and the clothing is a way other one ha ha! Especially with so many bodies and mods. I love to organize with people as well, it's a lot of fun, and I find it easier to concentrate when doing something like inventory organization, with other people. 😄

I took a look at that CTS Wardrobe in someone YouTube video and it seems a but much to me? I don't minding spending 10 L to save a pic for my Wardrobe in the SL Outfits sections, so it seems like a lot of work from what the video showed? And it's not entirely ON SL so that was a big turn off from using that. 🫠

Are you a Virgo too? Not many people organize their inventory into so many rational sub-folders. I do this too, but still have a bunch of unsorted or partially sorted stuff in folders from hunts, Shop & Hop events, "Clothes to Sort!" & etc.

OMG YES I AM a Virgo LOL 🤣

First consider how you actually use your inventory. If you go to RP sims, organize some clothing for different kinds of sims. If you go to clubs, have a folder for club ware. If you know you wear different clothing in the summer vs. winter, organize by seasons.

Do your different bodies share the same outfits? Then don't have different folders for each body. Rather use a notation in your folder titles so you can sort for those bodies. This keeps duplicate items to a minimum. For instance F*, M*, L*, Re*, GxC* could mean Freya, Maitreya, Legacy, Reborn and GenX Curvy. Do you really need to have all those bodies active though? If there are some you no longer use, delete their outfits in the folders, but keep the packages and the notation in the folder titles, so you can pull out those sizes later if you really want them.

Second, you have too many sub-folders. Think of titles that would let you combine some of them. For instance: Bedroom Furniture, Kitchen Furniture, Livingroom Furniture, Outdoor Furniture. This lets you keep sets together and keeps you from looking through all your chairs when you know you either want a kitchen chair, a comfy chair, or a deck chair. It's essential to have a balance between not enough sub-folders vs. too many sub-folders.

Another example would be "Pictures and Art", which would include all kinds of wall art, statues and any art that doesn't quite fit in those categories.

YEAH ;A; I think I try to organize ***** to hard into like hyper specific folders lol It's driving me nuts ha ha!

I'll try to condense the Titles / Themes. I thought I was getting somewhere when I decided to make "Halloween" and "Christmas"

Organize?  I gave up on that years ago. I create folders that seem logical at the moment and I stuff things in them.  Every once in a while -- mostly when I have wondered "Where did I put that thing?"  -- I spend an afternoon just tossing things that don't look familiar.  I operate on the theory that if I can't remember what something is (or why in heaven's name I got it)  I probably won't miss it.  I've been following that philosophy for years now, and my inventory has never climbed over about 50,000 items. And I can usually find the important stuff.

I will admit, though, that there are two classes of objects that defy my Clean Slate approach.  I do a fair amount of scripting and I rarely get rid of one that I have spent more than an hour or two writing. Same with mesh objects I have created.  Most of those scripts and mesh files are stored off line, of course, not in my inventory, but the ones that do end up in inventory tend to stay there forever.  I have a hard time killing off my own children.

Oh gosh, I use to do that and then I realized I deleted a lot of stuff I did want years later ;-; Why am I so picky!

But thank you for your feed back! Every bit counts and helps me figure things out ha ha!

  12. Hello everyone!

I'm back again with another ask from the SL community. I have been trying for YEARS to organize my inventory. But my problem is the amount of different things I own. Some issues I come into a problem with is the following...

    • I own massive amounts of decor.
    • I own massive amounts of landscaping things.
    • I own a ton of clothing, accessories, etc.
    • I own a lot of different bodies and thus a ton of different clothing for EACH body.

My inventory is always getting new things of all different types, it's insane. I've tried organizing from Themes, to Colours, to bodies, to WHATEVER, but I always end up not liking how the organization goes and I still struggle to find stuff, or know what I have. Here is an example of something I have started, but now I hate it because I still feel lost. Or maybe just the fact I have so much stuff is the REAL crippling blow to my desire to organize LOL LORD SEND HELP!

I want your ideas and examples, PLEASE! So I can maybe collab all your ideas into something I can do LOL

Your friend should certainly AR the person concerned for Harassment.    There's no need for her to provide transcripts -- governance can find those on the server logs -- but it would help them if she were to  check her chat logs, if possible, to provide dates and times.

In answer to the specific question, the Linden Lab Official:Residents' privacy rights say, among other things,

Thank you so much! Yes, she reported him and if he continues we will just block him.

I'll give the Policy a read! Thank you.

There's absolutely nothing they can do about it. You can complain to the mods on that site,  if the posts have broken their rules, but their site is beyond LL's control.

Okay! I wasn't sure. With the state of things now off Second Life, I see people get banned off of platforms for simply saying or doing something on another. It's kind of scary.

3 minutes ago, Wulfie Reanimator said:

LL has a neutral "we don't enforce rules outside of our platform" stance. They haven't made an explicit rule against it, and historically they haven't taken action for stuff like that.

That said, harassment is against TOS. The best way to prove that is to let them talk at you and then make an abuse report with reference to the chatlog with timestamps and location. LL can go back and read local chat and IMs, nothing is private to LL if it happens within Second Life.

I will keep this in mind. so far everyone replying seems to have the same general stance or advice. Thank you :3

Drama -- Ignore them, block them, go on with your SLife.  LL seldom gets involved in drama inworld and LL can't do anything about stuff posted outside of LL.

Yeah, I do enjoy that LL DOES believe in, "Just Block them." Because a banned person is a banned customer LOL Totally get it.

11 minutes ago, Persephone Emerald said:

I'd like to see the official response to this question, but I believe LL generally doesn't get involved in what people post on other websites.

I would as well! My understanding is sharing DMs IN Second Life is not allowed, but I'd love to know the official policy on sharing stuff OFF SITE.

  16. I've always had this issues with random horrible people messaging me terrible *****. I always report it if I find it to be truly offensive, which most of the time it's not.

Me and my friend came across this one guy during the SL20 Birthday Shop n Hop, and he randomly DMed me calling me a, "****." Now, this DM is  not what bothered me. He blocked me before I could reply and moved on, which IS annoying. My friend however, messaged him and told him off. But NOW, he is DMing HER. But what he does, is he sends a message, then blocks. And when he feels like throwing more insults at her, he unblocks her and sends more DMs and repeats. He's been doing this for 2 days now. We understand it'd be best to block him but please continue reading...

Disclaimer! We do find it funny as *****, but at the same time, I don't think this behavior should be tolerated.

I'd also like to disclose, this is his "Blocked" message, which is normally a Fire Storm feature.

    Quote

I've blocked you. **** off. Probably because you're annoying as ****, rude as ****, in peoples way and don't care or youre some weird "furry" (if thats the case, you belong in a zoo).. Or I detected that youre a man in a female avatar.

I did nothing to this man, other then he may have seen a conversation I had in local, where a person passive aggressively insulted my preference for a game I play, made an assumption about me, in which I said, "Do you want a sticker XD ?" That's about the only thing I could think of why he'd message me saying, "What a ****."

With all of this in mind, I'd like to knowing if writing about my experience and including the DMs on a Blog I own is legal or allowed through Second life. And if NOT, can I do it, but with censoring the names of the person?

    Thanks in Advance!

This is pretty much my sl too at the moment. Hi5

Yeah, so far the advice given is not he most helpful, so  I'm assuming there is no effective way to not see certain things.

Sadly not seeing "Adult" regions locks out a lot of non-sexual sims. Some sims just have it as Adult so no child avatars etc are allowed in.

  18. As I find regions and people I don't like, I'm always wishing I could never see them or their land again. I really wish when searching for places if you saw a place you don't like, you had the option to permanently hide it from ever seeing it in your search bar again. I'm so tired of seeing lewd or sexual things in my places search. However, simply turning off the ability to see adult regions is not good enough because it hides stores and other places that, yes are adult, but are not sexual or sex themed.

If anyone knows a way to hide these place, please let me know.

  19. Hello! I'm trying to get the EEP to work on my land, but at different Altitudes.

Here are some Facts to help solve this issue:

    1) I own the land. It is purchased from LL and not Rented Second Hand.
    2) I have tried both Official LL EEPs and my own Made EEPs. Neither are working.
    3) I have tried using the EEPs at the original heights they are set at, and they do not work.
    4) I tried Teleporting away and coming back.
    5) I testing the setting on both FireStorm Viewer and Alchemy Viewer.

Any advise or idea would help! I'd really like to get this to work.

    Thank you!
