in the Linden viewer I ticked the basic shaders but avatar hardware skinning is still greyed out is there something I'm missing?

problem sovled, after reading Whirly's suggestion, I checked and avatar skinning was greyed out confuesed I looked into it more and sven at first I thought it it had to deal with the laptop but after testing on a total of three viewers; it turned out firestorm viewer was the only one that I managed to fix my gradient problem

Hello, I'm wondering why my shoes are looking like this to me? http://imgur.com/hlsm83J they should be one solid color but I'm thinking they could doing it because of the viewer I'm using or the laptop due to it not being that great, any ideas? thank you in advance
