  1. That's what I just got...an Acer, and I love it. I have been suggesting this model to everyone I know lol. They don't sell it at Best Buy tho unfortunately
  2. I've heard nothing but good things about MSI laptops. They are great for gaming, and this one, has the same specs as my Acer I just got, actually...a tad bit better with it's larger screen & 1TB hard drive. It's well below your budget so you can afford an extended warenty, tax, and all that good stuff too. With these specs, I run SL just fine, averaging about 40fps at my home on ground level. About 80fps in the sky, and around 25fps on a full sim like at a club or festival with 40-60 avatars. This is on Mid-High graphics. I'm more than pleased. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-gp70-leopard-010-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/5185148.p?id=1219113400424&skuId=5185148 Hope this helps. Now if you want to run around on Ultra and get 80fps at the Gatcha Fair...then that's a whole other level of Laptop, and you'll need to up your budget. But this PC will run SL wonderfully, and at a great price too. (Best Buy does not sell my Acer or I would recommend that) Good Luck!
  3. Hi Check out the link I just posted in the forums about my new laptop. I hope it helps. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Second-Life-Tech/A-wonderful-Laptop-for-running-SL-for-under-600-00-USD/td-p/2906204
  4. I see a lot of people ask the same question. What is a good laptop I can get to run SL, that will not break my bank. I'm posting this thread hoping that the information can help some people, as I know how frustrating dealing with slow rez, lag, and bad fps can be, and how it brings down your total SL experience. I can answer this for you, since I just got a new laptop this weekend, and I am in love with it. Here is a link to the one I got. http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-572G-51DR-15-6-Inch-Platinum/dp/B00R45UFUY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_pc_1?... It has: Intel Core i5-5200U Processor (2.2 GHz)8 GB DDR3L SDRAM500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive15.6-Inch Screen, NVIDIA GeForce 840MThe i5 Processor is the new Gen 5 processor just released last month. The graphics card is great. It has both intigrated graphics AND a 2gb dedicated Nvidia 840m. You simply chose which programs you want to run with intigrated, or with dedicated. I am runnin SL on High graphics, and getting between 35-50 fps at ground level at my home. up to 80fps in the sky at my home. Between 18-25fps at a fully packed club or sim. I tested this on 4 sims the most was at the Shabby fair there were 60 people on sim. I rez fast. And no lag whatsoever. This PC is 599.99 USD from Amazon.com You will not find a better deal on a laptop with these specs, and this performance for this price. Trust me, I researched this for about 1 month before I purchased, and i am nothing but blown away by the performance. I hope this helps those who are looking for a good laptop at a budget price. Even if you don't get this specific laptop, at least you can see my specs, and know what to look for in order to get the results I've listed above. Good luck to you.

  6. Hello There. Let me say first, I'm replying to your post without reading the other replys so if this has already been stated, then you can disregard I have a nice PC, good specs, yet my pictures would always come out fuzzy, or unclear, and I didn't know why. Well, it was a simple fix. Here is what you do. When you go to take the snapshot, set your resolution on the window to a higher resolution than the default 512x512 or 1024x1024. Depending on what I'm taking the picture for, I go as high as 4000x4000 pixels. If you're going to upload to FB, then it only lets you upload a file to a certain size limit, so set it to like 2025x2025. Basically, the higher the pixel resolution, the more crystal clear your photo will be. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
