Sliding Dagger

I've tried different viewers, and logging in to a quiet sim, and with a good signal, but freezes before log in completes, sometimes gets as far as downloading clothing. The lat works fine, so it seems to be this particular one that has the problem. What solution can I try?

I got advice to make sure I had a good connection and to login to quiet areas liek smith and quarrel, but still stays the same, The problem began as I was putting on some clothes (the usual ones I always wear!) and sl froze, and since then I haven't been able to get in. I've tried other laptops, and my alt has no poblem logging in. What could it be that's worng with me?

When logging in I gat as far as "loading world" r sometimes "downloading clothing" and a few times as far as an orange cloud, but with not enough time to remove the clothing I was putting on (clothing I've worn many times before). I have removed cache from application support and tried different viewers. But my alt works just fine, it's just my main me that is freezing at login! I see when my question posted that underneath my name it says new resident, even though I'm all of seven years old. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Perhaps it just means first time posting here. p.s. I'm using the firestorm new release when this happenned. But then tried the Second Life viewer and dowloaded and tried Singularity, but I didn'e even get as far on them as on Firestorm. My pheonix may be old, I just get an unresponsive loginscreen that I have to immediately forcequit! I havent tried removing and reloading Firestorm, but as it is working for my alt I thought that it's not the problem, it's my me that's gone funny inside. After getting those great answers. Amazing to get answers like that, it's magic! Sadly though even in the quiet areas Smith, Quarrel and so on that I was so helpfully guided to and even with a good connection, I still freeze when it reaches "loading world" and once got as far as "downloading clothing." The freeze happenned first while I was logged in, adn putting on clothes I've put on hudnreds of times before, and so I had to forcequit, and since then not been able to get back on : ( And still the alt has no problem, so it's definitely something sliding around int he wrong way inside me! Any ideas, am I doomed?
