  1. I had a small lake and was trying to raise the land and I guess I did it too much....long story short...all but about 10 percent of my land is under water. My houses and another building is still there, but there's water all around them. How do I fix this and get my land back?

You would think that when you get some land like this, if you make a mistake you can go back and fix it, such as in my case trying to remove a lake and royally messing it up. I guess it's there but couldn't find it.

(had to kinda rant...sorry if I offended anyone)

  2. Is there a way to have weather covering an entire area of 65,536 sqm2? I have a homestead that I want to have different weather at different times of the season .....snow during the winter, you get the point. I've looked and bought a few of the ones that are on the Marketplace, but they don't do the job. Also, how do I prevent the weather from coming INSIDE the buildings on my land?

  3. I'm working on a project for myself and need guidence, direction, ect.......The project is to create a "husband" to help me around my two houses, and my space station. I know there are "bots" out there can do what I would like my "husband" to do, but I have bigger plans than just a simple 'bot.  I know that SL isn't developing for bots, and I have been blown away by the members that do have bots created. Mine would be a total bot, doing everything in the book and then some....kinda like a real husband would.

Yes, I know it sounds like and perhaps is a giant pain the the rear, but I really won't know until I try to do it. Is there any advice anyone out there can give me, perhaps point me in the right direction? I have on paper what the actions would be (that's how I plan everything) but need to put it into reality (so to speak)

    Thanks,

    Arielle

  4. hmmm......so if I understood correctly, if I wanted to upload a mesh from the STMC site for my own private use (no selling, giving it away) I  COULD use it in SL?

Just want to be clear on this.....:matte-motes-agape:

  5. I'm hoping this is in the right forum!  I'm trying to build boxes so I can group items together in my inventory and store them. What are the steps other than rezz the boxes and groups the items do I need to do in order to store them?  Would I have to have a script or something to do that?  The reason is my inventory is OOC (Out of Control) and I don't want it to get any worse!

    Thanks!

  6. Hi....Yes they are supposed to be registered as such when created. After being here on SL 4 times in about 15 years, this hasn't changed. I'm not saying that all of them are not being registered as such, but I think a small percentage of them are created and not registered.

Anyway, that's my two Federation credits.......hopefully I didn't offend anyone.....

  7. I have a 1/8 region and would like to know the least stressful way of finding the EXACT middle of my region. I'm thinking of have a enviroment rezzer and would like to place it where my neighbours won't have a problem with it.

And this is good info for me to have if I decide to have another space and want to either use a enviro rezzer there, or just to know the center of the plot of land.

    Thanks for the advice!

  8. No, I don't see a conspiracy here at all. There was a law passed on internet gambling and I'm guessing that SL2 is a way around the problem. And yes, it's bad when you try to go to your home on some part of the mainland or whereever and are denied access because there are too many people in the sim playing the games, hoggin' everything and making (second) life miserable for others who don't play the games.

But hey, that's my two-cents (or Federation credits) and I could be wrong....and I admit it.....:smileytongue:

  9. I am a experienced member of SL...I'm currently in my third life here and was wanting to try using a third-party viewer. I have a Win7 system, more memory than it came with, and a willing to experiment with the unknown (at least to me :smileywink:)

Out of all the third-party viewers out there (these are the ones who are updated all the time), which ones would be the best one and the least hair pulling out one to try?

I'm looking for one that will have (at least) an easy learning curve so I don't have to wade through some sixty different support pages to find a simple solution to a problem or question that I might have.....

Any help from my fellow second lifers will be most helpful......:heart::heart::heart::heart:

  10. I'm still wanting to make clothes for SL and am wondering if I should get GIMP or how paint.net would work out...is there anyone who has tried both out? What would be the advantages and disadvantages of each one? In other words, which one or both would be able to read, create and export the required textures, etc for SL to be able to read and use (rezz)? Can some one break it down for me?

The clothes that I'm wanting to make are not complicated (no bling animations for anything..that's annoying to many) but rather kinda simple (nightshirts, simple skirts..you get the picture)

    Thanks......

  11. (I hope this is in the right forum!)

I am wanting to learn or find someone to guide me in making some animated bots for a theme I am starting to create. I am big into historical and sci-fi people and places. My goal is to have a half or full region in the near future for this to blossom. Having said THAT...I want to have animated people (bots) to "populate" the themed areas that I'll have.  The themes would be 15th to early 19th century European royal courts and Star Trek ........  The bots would be "background filler" doing general tasks and such (being a butler/chambermaid, following a royal as an attendant, walking along a corridor, etc).

Any ideas, suggestions would be welcomed....

  12. OK...I want to put up a skybox but wold like to know:

1--where is a skybox allowed and not allowed

    2--what size requirements are there?

I know this sounds a bit stupid, but I'd rather ask a dumb question (or 2) than buy land and get something that's WAY too big to fit.....I'd rather follow the rules than not....(I want happy neighbours and to stay in good graces with LL)
