  1. Indeed, that is apparently exactly what happened. MY mistake. In fact while poking around this morning, I found an UNsubmitted shopping cart that still contained my intended gift along with yet ANOTHER identical item. Good Lord, I could have ended up with TWO gowns for me and one for my friend!!! Something that strikes me as unusual in the Marketplace programming however, is the fact that after having closed my browser and clearing all cookies, that cart still persists from my previous shopping session. It seems that most typically, shopping carts go pooof after one leaves the session and takes their cookies with them. In any case, I DO thank you for pointing out the error of my ways. And incidentally, the merchant (Designing Nicky Ree) was exceedingly helpful and accommodating in providing my friend with the intended gift. Thank you Nicky.
  2. Last evening I ordered as a GIFT an item from a very well respected merchant of the Marketplace. The ordering process appeared to go as expected, including my filling out a message to accompany my gift. My account was charged appropriately, but I was disappointed and annoyed that the item showed up in MY received items folder. Since the item is 'no transfer' what am I supposed to do with a lovely ballgown??? Since I'm not into cross-dressing yet *grins*, this item is absolutely worthless to me. I have attempted to address the issue with the Merchant, but as I wait for their response it occurs to me that responsibility for the problem really rests with the Marketplace. How, or to whom do I address my effort to resolve this problem? I would appreciate input from users who are far more experienced in these matters than I. Marquis
  3. You seem to be missing the point here. This isn't a question of philosophy, but rather an inquiry as to how this is made possible. In other words... care to elucidate the means to the end?
  4. For most avatars, when I search from my dashboard, the pic that displays within "search.secondlife.com" is the same as the pic that displays when I go to their profile within "my.secondlife.com", yet for a few avatars, I've noticed that the two pics are different. I'd like to understand why this is so. The two different pics have been in place for several weeks.
