The IT department at my workplace recently changed the core network switch at our company and ever since then when I try to access SL (on my lunch break or after hours) I get duplicated messages, RLV commands, payments and transactions constantly during my session. This never happened before. I am not a network guru but I do know a little bit about protocols and ports. I did a wireshark capture and it looks to me (without full network understanding) that some of the packets are being retransmitted. Other lines show acknowledges to unseen frames. How do I bring this to my network manager's attention in a discreet way? Surely something was not configured correctly to cause the duplicated packets. Are there any other business applications that behave similarly to SL in the type of network traffic they would create that I could compare to? What other programs stream a connection like SL does? I use the latest Firestorm viewer on Windows 7 but found this also occurs with Radegst and my ipad's viewer - pocket metaverse - when on the same network. It does not happen while connected to any other network so I am certain it is a firewall or setting on these new switches. Can anyone help me? I can share the wireshark capture file if that would help and would offer a little financial compensation to help resolve this.
