Good points, thought I had checked everything but apparently I was in a no-scripting sandbox area. Admittedly I had not done anything in SL since 2007, the area I was in used to be ok for testing scripts. Apologies for wasting time, but thanks for replying. Hi folks, I am not receiving any messages sent to me from scripted objects. I have tried everything from llSay, llOwnerSay, to llInstantMessage -- even the default script that comes when you 'Create New Script' on a new object. I have no block list, no objects of any kind blocked, my settings do not prevent me from receiving messages, I checked that the script is running. I'm at a loss, I'd be grateful if anyone could toss out further suggestions.. Thanks, Jexx
