  1. Tama Okiya is hiring. We do not have land of our own yet but, for ozashiki and events use another sims that have open access to their tea house, theater, and school house. Trainee Requirements: *Commit to a contract deal. *Need a strong dedication as training can take over 3 real life years to complete. Many of our most serious students will end their training around year 7. *No sexual activities on the account in use for the okiya (and no affiliation on other accounts with ours or any other okiya if they do participate in them). *Must not be part of any okiya or yukaku in sl on any account when you apply. *Must be willing to learn and have the resources to pay for what you need. *Must be able to be online around 6:30pm slt- 11pm slt. *Rp experience, some knowledge of emoting is a plus. *Sl minimum age of 3 months. Hostess Requirements *Can be on call 6:30pm-11pm slt. *Must be good at event hosting, communication, and even developing games, etc. for patrons. *Typically a hostess would pour tea or sake, serve food, and entertain guests with games, stories, etc, while they wait for the maiko or geiko to show up. If the maiko or geiko has another appointment to attend too, they may be in charge of closing the event. The hostess typically helps to guide into things such as helping the maiko or geiko become involved in conversation, helping lead patrons into games a maiko or geiko suggests, etc. *It is not uncommon for two hostesses to work at once in which case patrons would be divided into two rooms between the two hostesses. A maiko or geiko would spend 30 minutes roughly in each room. *It is prefered that hostesses not be into gorean roleplay or bdsm on the account in use. An asian appearance with a furisode kimono or other asian style dress is allowed (please no outfits worn by a maiko/geiko). *Must be very outgoing and proactive. A preference goes to those who do have some knowledge of anime, and japanese culture. *Hostesses often try to get together private shows and ozashiki (tea house parties) as this is where their money is primarily made. Without it, it can be a tough road sometimes. *They do learn some of maiko and geiko culture as well as a little of how ozashiki and events typically work. *This is not neccessarily a daily job, as their may be nights when very little occurs if anything. *They may play roles on stage that would open up more chances for tips. *Pay: Read below. Security Requirments * Must have a respectful, and outgoing personality. *Need to be aware of various roleplay sitatuions they may encounter and how to handle them. *Security can wear business attire or period attire. *Security in general is one of the harder jobs. On call from 6:30-11pm slt, they have a large role. Tama Okiya wants to develop one of the most unique and best experiences in Second Life. Yet, the Okiya, just as others deal with, may face competition, drama, and external problems. A Security Officer is often placed in charge when they are called of one of the Tama Okiya Maiko, Geiko, Theater Areas, or Ochaya (Tea House). It is not uncommon for security to obtain a rickshaw to escort members on. For the tea house, security must ensure no unsavory element enters and that all stays tranquil. This can be hard on borrowed land but they do help bar griefers from entrance to events. For the theater, they monitor Tama Okiya members and staff, and ensure nothing interupts a performance. And for the maiko and geiko they often function as escorts. Security guides them from landing point to the proper location (on any sim), makes sure no harm comes to them, and is quick to spot drama and other problems. This may at time be a hard job, as it involves spending sometimes hours with a maiko or geiko as they visit other people, etc. Be aware when escorting a young member of the okiya (shikomi, minarai, or maiko) that some people may try to approach them in ims to put down or belittle their own place in an attempt to make them want to join their okiya. As one show seen on youtube points out maiko are in essence "cash cows"to their establishment, and the loss of one or any trainee often equals the loss of money and patronship, so everything must be monitered closely. *This is not par say a regular everyday job, as their may be plenty of days without need of service. However, this is a great job for those wanting to become involved in the day to day life of an okiya. *On call between 6:30 and 11pm slt. *Pay: See below. Payment: *Private Ozashiki can range from 1-2000 linden. If a hostess can secure a 2000 linden+ private ozashiki scheduled (must fit a maiko or geiko's online times), then she is sure to make at least 500 linden off of it. 600 linden will go to the person working security, and the rest divides between the okiya and the maiko or geiko. This is assuming their is one hostess, and one security member. IF there is more it would mean the hostess would make only half of the 500, it being split between her and the other hostess. And if two security people are present, then each gets 300l. If the hostess can only secure a private ozashiki at 1000 linden, then she and the security officer split 600 linden, and the rest goes to the maiko/geiko in attendance. If there is no private ozashiki secured, then the hostesses working keep 100% of their tips. The security officer is also allowed to place a tip jar in the area. *Private Odori (shows) are 2000 linden to 5000 linden in price. IF a hostess can secure the coveted 5000 linden role she automatically gets to keep 1500 linden. 1000 is given to security and the rest to the performers. That hostess can help in the theater, etc. during the show and gain more linden through tips. Security Guard Perks: *As it is harder to get paid doing security they are also allowed: Free private ozashiki Free attendance at typically paid for Tama Okiya Events Free chances to hang out (attend non-adult/ non sexual bars, live musical events) with a maiko or geiko. **Hostess/Staff Night ** *Twice a month staff may hold a night of informal entertainment. Typically 2-4 hostesses show up for work along with one or two security guards. All tips they earn get divided among the group equally and the event can go for a couple of hours. It is encouraged to get a maiko or geiko to make an appearance briefly, usually they are expected to share or give most of what they earn to the staff. One person is appointed the head, she/he watches over the money that is earned and divides it out at the end of the night. Games, stories, food, and other fun are usually devisied by the staff for patrons. *Those interested should contact Setsuna01 Resident.
