so would i still have to pay a monthly amount if i get a 30k sim for one time fee?

    cuz google was saying this

How much does it cost to buy a sim on Second Life?
    Full (30K) sim cost = $349 to buy (one-time fee), $259/month. Full (20K) sim cost = $349 to buy (one-time fee), $229/month. Full (5K) homestead sim cost = $149 (one-time fee), $109/month. Current exchange rate (Nov 2, 2021) = $1 = L$241 (excluding $1.49 transaction fee)

so if i get a full sim for 30k and pay a one time fee would i still have to continue paying 249 per month?

The first time you order a sim from LL the cost is $349, this is essentially the "setup fee" and also includes the first month of rent/tier/subscription. Thereafter, you have to pay the rent/tier/subscription of either $209/month for 20k prims or $249/month for 30k prims.

The one time fee is applicable everytime you order a new sim.

Having heard much inworld about this issue, I think the best solution in the interim is to try (and most likely) fail too log in with thr Linden Viewer and to pack up the logs and add them to the LL JIRA...I can't see one yet.

Without those Logs LL are going to be fighting with their hands tied.

The solution tagged "highly likely" at this point is one fubarred server node between the hapless users and SL.

What are the logs they need and where to access I can upload mine.

  3. Also having this exact same problem.

Suddenly, unable to move around, interact etc and was disconnected. Tried to reconnect same issue "We're having trouble connecting. There may be a problem with your Internet connection or the Second Life Grid.".

Tried to reconnect, unable, same issue as above. Finally got in, nothing then loads and trying to TP away disconnected again. Finally reconnected another 2 times and back in as normal.

My friend meanwhile was in the whole time, their location LA, North America. My location, UK, Euorpe.

  4. We are a small community sim with a very active community.

  5. Hello and welcome to Heinlein Forest.

I have a couple of fully landscaped plots available, which form part of my private region which I call home.

Plots come with a house however this can be changed out for your own and will not remove from your allocated prim count.

Plots available starting at 800 prims to 1500 prims - L$0.8 per prim - Message Reuben Blakewell in-world to discuss your needs.

I have included two images below as a general feel for the area, please visit in-world and explore for the full experience of the region.

Why not just buy from LL directly?

That would be because of the insane rip off you get for being an international customer.

Firstly, the Tillia exchange rate and secondly the addition of tax for new services adds up to a stupid amount - $418.80, then you convert that into the correct currency and it works out at the equilvant of $436.54.

    That's why.

Whatever you want to buy, check, check and double check if you can reach Blake. Sometimes it looks like it on the map.
Untill you go sailing or flying and discover that you need to cross simcorners, banlines and more misery...

Yeah, im in no major rush as for now I do have a LL home which is accessible I just wanted to see things closer with protected waterway access. For example, the plot there mentioned actually doesnt have access to protected waterways because you'd have to try and navigate through peoples land and thats what I want to avoid.

Hi Reuben, when you want to buy mainland with direct access to Blake you need to check the map regulary and be prepared for astronomically high prices.
Never pay the price they ask. Start with 50% of it.

That was exactly my thought when I checked the map they were "advertising prices" from what I could see. Sadly, I dont know how to get in contact with some of the owners of the lands as they're owned by groups which are private so I cannot see the members.

Can you provide a few more details? What size and rating, for example, and what's your rough budget? Access to Blake Sea can be expensive, as you know. Is renting an option?

Hey Katherine, thanks for your reply! Looking for Moderate and min size 1024 upwards. Pricing can be expensive yep, but im sure people are probably looking to sell some land at some point so wanted to put feelers out to see what people had, but pricing can be discussed, in terms of access to protected waterways for such a way that you don't have to navigate through potentially changing lands and thus getting blocked in. If you have anything or anyone who may have some land, please do let me know.

Buying a parcel with direct acces to Blake is very expensive.
There are some good rental options to find at Holly Kai

Hey Ian, thanks for your reply! Ideally not looking for a rental, been there, done that and too many places up and vanish so would rather not invest my money into a rental would rather pay for something I know isn't going to up and poof.

    Thanks both

To be frank, I don't think many of the kinds of people most in need/ best able to compensate your skills are regular forum posters and viewers. You might be better off doing a bit of research and applying to places directly.

    Thank you for your feedback.
