  1. @2mSynth Thanks for the thorough alternate solution. I'll have to give a try sometime.
  2. @Theresa oui, oui! I've solved my problem by creating a new toon. And yes having fun outfitting her with new outfits etc. Looking forward to my new non-stalker friends on her as you put it. c'est pour s'amuser
  3. @Echo @Drake1 You're both right. I just didn't handle it right. In my case it was a man I met from another country. We hit it off pretty quickly. There was a small language barrier... so that complicated things a bit. We got married in SL right away (my mistake LOL) Then when he found out I blocked him the next day because I needed time to think ... He was perhaps someone I might meet in RL but there were some RL details that were highly suspect and so I just didn't feel like talking to him for a while. In any case as soon as he found out I was blocking him he divorced me the next day LOL. So of course I went to do what any SL toon would do, I went to celebrate my first SL divorce at my fave SL dance club. We made up later but it had me thinking about all this privacy stuff. In the end, if he or anyone else can't handlel it they need to go. i've experienced a RL stalking situation and it was _not_ fun. In any case, my first taste of SL drama, probably not my last. It's all in good fun. I think the best thing to do is not to reveal too many RL details, thats the most important part. What happens in SL stays in SL.
  4. Hello and thanks all for your comments. @Echo Hermit I'm all for social networking. The issue arises in privacy when it concerns a certain individual.. one you may have a friendship with or something more. Thats when it becomes crucial. I may get on second life and not feel like talking to a person but too lazy on explaining why or why not. Or just not wanting to hurt someone's feelings or spend time with someone else. I appreciate your feedback though. I guess I'll just have to learn to deal with it. Thanks again. Just another girl on SL
  5. Oh, thanks much. I wasn't sure where to find it. Thanks again.
  6. Does anyone else have an issue with switching audio output (speakers to headphones) using the SL viewer on mac? This happens each and every time I do it. Just wanted to know if this was an acknowledged issue.
  7. Ok so i have a serious issue with privacy and I'm not sure why it hasn't been addressed or even recognized. There is an option in the viewer to allow both friends and groups to see me online. Why can't I pick one without the other? Yes I generally want all my friends to see if I'm online however if I have either blocked or temporarily blocked a friend (or anyone I guess), they can still log in from another toon. The loophole lies in the fact that if my groups are listed in my profile and all someone has to do to see if I'm online is make a character, join one of my groups and then see if I'm online. Or they can use the search results, look up my profile and see the green online dot. I have tried to solve the issue by removing myself from search results and removing all groups from my profile. I hesitate to join groups because the default setting is to show them on my profile and I have to dig in the settings to remove it each and every time. Lastly I have ended up playing an alt because I'm still not sure how people are able to tell how I am online. I'd like to see the settings a bit more simplified and all in one place especially where the friends/groups are concerned. Actually just default to only my chosen friends knowing I'm online and leave it at that. By the way, I generally join "groups" not because I want to be a part of the community of some place but so I can receive updates from the group owner. It would be nice if there were an option for that too. Just an update.. nothing more (chat etc).
